The Search For Alex Flores

Once my Wife returned home yesterday I immediately took off to Fruitland to participate in a search for Alex in a corn field in Fruitland.

Up to 70 people had come out, (thank you) to help in the search and or to bring water for those already searching. Even Co Workers from McDonald's were there to help in the search.

A private helicopter also helped in the search but nothing turned up. The biggest question everyone was asking was, why are there no K-9 Dogs helping in the search. Allow me to give you that answer.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Department do not feel there is foul play involved. Alex recently broke up with his girlfriend, (confirmed by his Father Felipe) and showed signs of depression. Alex was seen in his red shirt, (Friday Uniform at McDonald's) around 5 PM leaving home. He has yet to be seen since.

Now, there has been absolutely no activity on his cell phone since. There also hasn't been any activity on his credit card. He did not have his cell phone charger with him. What happened to Alex is beyond me but as a Parent I know I would do ANYTHING to look for my child.

Alex is driving a silver 2007 Toyota Corolla with tag numbers, 2ER E21. What makes his stand out over the rest is the fact that there is no pin striping along the left side of the car. There is on the right but not on the left.

In my honest opinion, right now, the easiest thing to find is the car. If you're in a shopping center or anywhere you travel and you see a silver Corolla, look for the missing pin stripes. If the car was stolen, they may have changed the tags.

Mr. Flores thanked everyone who helped in their search for this young man yesterday. It was rumored the last cell signal he had was around that corn field in Fruitland. Click on the 9:00 AM Post we have up and it will open onto its own page. Then click print and you'll have a flier to keep in your car.

If and when we receive any new updates we'll get it posted right away. It should be noted that candidate Julie Brewington was also on the scene yesterday helping in the search. My hat is tipped to Julie for participating along with ALL of you who showed up.

I know what you are all going through my brother went missing about a year ago. We had no luck With the police but he was listed as missing. We even were able to check his EZ pass acount. The good news was we did locate him about a month after his disaperance. Keep faith. He just might need some time alone.

Joe, I remember hearing that there is a homeless camp in the woods by Walmart. (a fairly safe one as I was told at the time) Has anyone gone into those woods to look or at least ask some of the homeless people in that area if they have seen anything? Could one of the homeless people there found the phone and that's why the signal came from that area?

All these coincidences do not sound good, but for the family I will hold onto hope. I hope they find him soon.

Is there a need for volunteer searchers? I would be more than willing to help.

My daughter had gone missing a few years ago & when her car was found things were looking very bleak. Fortunately for all concerned she had lent her car to someone & ditched it. She called home a few days later & thank God was safe. She just needed to get her act together. Don't loose hope, no matter what. He IS being looked after by God.

Those buses in the back ground are watermelon buses correct. I would look into that.

Will there be any more searches? Maybe organized by groups with the help of the local police depts & fire depts? What if there was some sort of clue out there what would happen to it? I am not trying to be negative, just trying to get some questions answered.

I noticed how you conveniently did not give credit to WBOC-TV 16's chopper 16 but referred to it as a "private helicopter". I also noticed how you made sure their logo was not visible in your picture. That is uncool. I am a regular reader of your site and agree w/many of your posts and comments. I was at the search too and I'm sure the Arroyo-Flores family appreciated them assisting w/the search as they also appreciated you and everyone else helping.

The helicopted in the picture provided is a private helicopter, arranged by a friend of the family. WBOC was not there to help in the search. They were there to collect images for their evening news broadcast.

However, you're right in one area. WMDT was in fact there on the scene, on the ground covering this event and I forgot to thank them for doing so. Thanks WMDT.

Just want to follow up on what Joe said. Everyone that was in Fruitland could see that this was NOT WBOC helicopter. It had NO markings just like the picture.

I will have an update some time today. Salisbury News has been contacted by a Search & Rescue Group out of West Virginia who is ready to go but we are waiting for additional information today before reply contact is made. You'll understand the delay when the information gets posted. Thanks!
