Kratovil Ignores Energy Tax Vote

ANNAPOLIS – Today Frank Kratovil toured small businesses on the Lower Shore, conveniently ignoring his support for legislation that would devastate local entrepreneurs. According to Maryland Republican Party Chairman Audrey Scott, Kratovil’s vote for the over-regulating Cap-and-Trade energy tax debilitates small businesses, farmers and the agriculture industry, upon which the Eastern Shore heavily relies.

“It is amazing Frank Kratovil would claim he defends small businesses after voting for one of the largest small business tax increases in U.S. history,” said Scott. “Kratovil knew how the bad policies in the Energy Tax would affect his constituents and he still sided with Nancy Pelosi to pass the detrimental legislation.”

The Energy Tax could cost Maryland 41,000 jobs and drive up the price of energy while placing more restrictions on local farmers, increasing their operating costs, making it harder for them to survive on the Eastern Shore.

“Kratovil is on the record supporting this over-regulating bill that would debilitate the poultry industry, farmers and small businesses,” Scott said. “Votes like these have Kratovil avoiding town halls and his constituents this summer, instead opting for controlled substance-less events with handpicked crowds.”

It doesn't do anything to Maryland farmers. It specifically exempts them from the legislation. Why can't Republicans debate without lying?
