Take the Test-Take Control

(Salisbury, MD) —The 16th National HIV Testing Day is June 27, 2010, sponsored annually by the National Association of People with AIDS. In recognition of the event, Wicomico County Health Department will offer anonymous and confidential HIV testing on a walk-in basis on Monday, June 28th, from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM at 300 West Carroll Street in Salisbury. TESTING IS FREE!

On a per capita basis (per 100,000 population) in 2007, Maryland ranked 4th in the Nation in AIDS case report rates. There were 31,931 Maryland residents living with HIV/AIDS as reported through June 30, 2008. Today, early detection provides advanced treatment options that can slow down the rate at which HIV weakens the immune system.
