Great Service

I wanted to take a moment of my time to let you know about our recent dinner.
Monday, Andrea and I went to Famous Dave's in Salisbury for some pig slingin, bone throwing good BBQ. We had no idea that we would also get the ABSOLUTE BEST server that she and I have EVER experienced.

Ashlee (or Famous Ashlee as the name tag says) was without a doubt the best server I personally have ever had at ANY restaurant! She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and on target with drinks and food.

Just before Andrea and I entered the building a large party (around 15 people) and another party of 5 were seated in Ashlee's section. Ashlee handled it all with ease with a smile on her face!

The food was great, the service was even better!!!

I was so impressed I left her a 35% tip, along with a gift card of 50.00 to our store. I would urge ANY and all locals to visit Famous Dave's and ask for Ashlee!

And to other servers at other establishments... you should visit as well and learn a few things.

Kudos to Ashlee!

Not sure who is getting the plug here: a place with lousy food or another lousy business. Either way, this poster does not have the "pulse" of what good food is like.

I am happy for Ashlee.

However, I have had a terrible experience at Famous Daves BBQ. The food was less than average and the service (at the bar) was terrible. There were only 4 people at the bar, but I waited for each of two drinks I ordered, and then had to listen to the employees conversation during my meal.

I do not plan to return.

8:24 way to be cynical. Some of us do enjoy Famous Daves and I have always been impressed with their wait staff. I wish I was eating some ribs for breakfast now.

8:24 Good food like beauty is relative. They're both subjective. I do tip my hat to the guy for recognizing the young lady's work ethic and effort, and hope he follows up by sending the store's general manager a letter.

Yeah....not a fan of Famous Dave's but it is nice to see someone get good service and write about it.

id still like to find some nc style bbq though

ashlee is great! ive had her before, but ive never had bad service from ANYONE there at all (except a slight mix up at the pick-up counter).

@843am

fait enough, but i disagree. the flavor of daves is (IMO) much better than anyone elses. however, adams ribs are good flavor and absolutely melt in your mouth. the meat there is so tender it boggles the mind!

damn it! now i want ribs!

ashley is fine , the food sucks.

J.Albero said...

WOW, will you look at that. It seems it's OK for anonymous commenters to say a restaurant sucks but God Forbid Joe Albero says so about Five Guys Burger & Fries and people go nuts.

Where is Emmings?

Joe my only problem with your Five Guys post yesterday was the timing of it. You put a critique of their business on a popular website based on the day the place opened. It's fine to not like it, and to even voice your opinion on that, I just wish you would have done it a few weeks from now. Give them a chance. That's all.

anonymous 9:32, AGAIN, allow me to REPEAT a few things.

ONE, their patties are smaller than the store in Annapolis.

TWO, I did not critisize them the first day they opened.

THREE, while being rushed through the order line, we ordered what we had originally thought was a veggie burger. Turns out it was veggies on a hamburger bun and it was crap. They knew it was going to be crap, hence their calling out our number sveeral times to make damn sure we understood what we were getting, AFTER the order was placed.

So there you have it, all corrected now.

We received a $50 gift card for Famous Dave's once. Our bill came to $25-$30. We gave our server the gift card and she never came back to our table. We kept trying to get her attention and she wouldn't come back to our table to bring us change or to return the card. Her service the whole time was just terrible, hardly checked on us. We were so angry we didn't even want to talk to the management, we just wanted to get out of there. The food was not good either. We will never go back.

ok ... just wanted to say this... it was not a plug for Famous Dave's, nor my store. I advertise on this site, so a quick plug would be pointless.

secondly. we had previously had a bad experience at the pickup counter about two weeks ago. the order was incorrect.

I believe in a second chance at times (so long as nobody got hurt) because we had been to Famous Dave's when they first opened and had a great meal.

I did tell her manager on duty, and I also wrote an email to Famous Dave's corporate office about her.

this post was mainly to inform you, the readers, Joe, other local business owners, servers, and even Ashlee (if she reads the site) of the GREAT SERVICE. You will notice i said the food was Good the service was even better. (side note)I personally had brisket and ribs. the ribs definitely cannot top Adams' Ribs (in my opinion) but the brisket was wonderful.

I personally feel as though with all the criticism that other establishments have received lately (mostly opinions that everyone is entitled to) I would post something positive about someone who did their job at the absolute best. And as a business owner myself I can tell you that customer service means alot, this girl had it together.

We gave Famous Dave's a couple of tries. Did not like the food OR the service either time so we will NOT be going back.
For ribs, we'll go to Adam's Ribs in Fruitland. For pulled pork, we'll go to Station 7 in Pittsville.

I have known Ashlee for awhile now and must say that she is one of those few genuine people you will meet. Glad to hear others appreciate how amazing of a person she is!

from a 'labelled anti-albero'er, i saw nothing wrong with the opinionated piece yesterday on 5 guys. the biggest thing i saw was the previous day when everyone was preaching how great it was, then joe says its bad. then everyone said its bad. i at least hope they were different people and not pulling an obama administration stunt - if obama says it, its gold!

J.Albero said...

anonymous 10:24, let me at least set the record straight. "I" never said anything about how great it was. I simply stated they were open. As for everyone saying how bad it was yesterday, you're mistaken. There were plenty of people who said they still enjoyed going there and even did so in our survey question of the day to boot.

I am a bar b cue lover that has eaten all over the country. Famous Dave's did not get this large by serving bad bar b cue. In my opinion their Beef Brisket is the best in the country. As for as ribs in this area none are great, some very good Texas Road House, Adams, Station 7. If you ever have a chance to attend the World
Bar b cue Championship at Tom Lee Park in Memphis please go amazing bar b cue.

I've had ashley serve me several times and I always leave smiling. Famous daves is the best. I love dropping loads of their sauce on a big brisket. Mmmmm
