i hate obama as much as the next guy, but i think the public is reaching a bit on this on. america doesnt have the tools needed to fix this problem. BP is trying everything they know how. this was an accident with no solution. may want to take russias idea and nuke the hole now, but i think everyone is doing what they should.

He has done absolutely nothing! Is there a question here. I live in Pensacola, Florida and I can promise you that as President he has not lifted one finger to help this area nor to help to stop this crisis.

Funny thing, Brazil requires ANY underwater well to have a relief well already in place. Canada requires 2 relief wells per underwater well. The good ol' USA...requires no relief wells. Nothin like politicians makin policy.

No, take Russia's idea and nuke it.

I agree with the first post in that the Feds don't have much to offer in terms of fixing the leak...BUT, Obama should have immediately begun a very thorough investigation into the Feds who were responsible for the inspections and monitoring of this rig. It is now well known that the blowout preventer had know hydraulic issues and that methane gas was known to have accumulated in the well head....why wasnt this rig shut down until those issues were resolved???

One quess$$$ This will be the biggest law suit(spl) in the history of our nation. Then we will bail them out.

He sent justice department lawyers done there and has threatened military force to stop the local authorities from building dunes to try and protect their land. What more can the incompetent imbesol do?

Hes also asking the supreme court to overturn an appeals court ruling that would allow the state of Az to revoke business licenses for companies that knowingly hire illegal aliens.

What can he actually do? He's the President not a miracle worker (although there are may that think he is) I don't care for Obama but if the situation was fixable, I think BP or another company would have done it 40+ days ago. BP is to blame. They had not plans for an accident like this and should have.
And just to note, as bad as this is, this is NOT a his Katrina as the media likes to compare. This is nothing like Katrina.

Wait till you see some of that oil migrate up the Atlantic coast lines, and don't let these scientists fool you by saying it won't happen,It may take a while but sooner or later it will be here.I don't think Obama or anyone else for that matter, knows what to do to this monster that wE have created.

Where is the skimmers they use in Saudi?

No. The economic impact that this country is facing will be enormous. This is no different than any other disaster that has occurred. There has to be a way to help those states that will/are going to be affected by the oil. When I mean help, I don't mean just sending money either. They states should have access to every means possible to try and prevent this from ruining the shoreline. BP said they wanted hair to help. People sent it by the truck load. Now they've completely decided to forget utilizing it. Why? They don't have enough booms to capture it, so why not try using the hair. It can't hurt. He should be on BP's a$$ right now. His basic "shrug of shoulder/oh well" attitude is ridiculous.

I heard one of the executives over at BP has shoes laces untied.

Considering how good Obama is at "bowing" I thought maybe he could run over and tie the man's shoe?

Hey this is Obama's Katrina, Right. According to all you libtards, Bush should have snapped his finger and fixed all the problems Katrina created. Well tell Obama to stay off the links and start snapping his fingers or spreading his fairy dust, what ever the president does to fix things. Start calling him a failure and blame it on race. He certainly isn't help the gulf coast because they are white. Sounds silly doesn't it.

When it comes to actually needing some common sense to make a real decision he and his administration are clueless, which is scary!

anyone know anything of the national BP protest/boycott
this week?
do we even have a BP around here?

If Obama would just let BP stuff Pelosi into the broken pipe, it would stop the oil from flowing and save America at the same time.

NO

Obama was the most inexperienced U.S. Senator who become the most inexperienced President, and is fully over his head.

He has never met a payroll and has absolutely no business leadership experience whatsoever. He is incapable of bringing to bear the leadership and action necessary to address the Gulf oil situation.

He continues to demonstrate with each passing day that he is inept and unuqualified to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the Office of Presidency of the U.S.

HE IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE!

No!

Obama was a mistake !

4:13 well put.
I think BP is in the best position to cap this well. BP has and continues to seek top engineers and ideas to solve this problem. Yes it stinks but who is better able. Obama's job is to get off his duff and direct funds to LA. so they can prevent further damage to the enviorment.

Some people must think that there's some valve down there that only Obama, or our government, can shut off. Get real people. This situation is an entirely new challenge, not only for the US, but the world. This IS different from Katrina. We knew Katrina was coming, and have dealt with hurricane damages before. Bush floundered on his response that could have had immediate impacts to the people in the Gulf region. People think that boycotting BP is suddenly going to fix something. Go ahead, make that statement, and watch BP go belly-up because its profits plummet because of ill-informed people trying to start their own revolution, then BP will be unable to clean up the mess that it is responsible for. Keep whining right wingers.

I dont like liberals....does that answer the question! What a disgrace to our country having Obama as our so called "president". Its embarrassing except for all the liberals out there,,,,,they think he is doing a fabulous job! Ha Ha Ha.....fooled you!

Yes, there isn't much he can do. This is all of our fault, we all drive cars that use oil, we all helped in this mess. I suggest instead of blaming other people blame yourself or try to help

Anonymous said...

6:56- You are an idiot. If we knew the hurricane, then explain to me why 1000 school buses were parked and not used to evacuate people. Mayor (chocolate City) Nagin and Clueless govenor were the ones floudering. Look at the contrast to know Bobby Jindal has been begging for 3 weeks for help with hard booms, soft booms and permission to creat barrier Islands. Obama is to inexperienced and ego to big to allow Jindal to do anything that might work. The truth is behind the scenes, Obama and the rest of the marxists are over joyed with this disaster because It will end all this drill here, drill now talk. This whole adminstration has no clue what to do about this or anything else for that matter. The fact is rather than a boycott, we should be helping BP survive this. Bp should pay every dollar of clean-up expense. We need oil and wind and solar aren't going to do it.

Anonymous said...

Whats wrong with using oil ? It's the fault of the environmental whackos that force them to drill so far out and so deep when they could drill from dry land ! Liberals suck !

I will open with.. I am not an Obama fan. But I try to give credit where it is due. If a Democrat has a good idea then I embrace it. (Who knows, one day it MAY happen.) But in this case, I do not think the President has done much of anything. Although he IS starting a ne task force to look into the problem. THAT should stop the oil from gushing.

i'll be the first one to say i'm not really an obama fan but at the same time how logical is it to blame him for something that he has had nothing to do with. i don't think he engineered, built, or operated either piece of equipment that failed. So far all those who want to sit back and want to say its his fault, what do you want him to do? should he swim down and cap it himself? America has become a finger point society that wastes more time trying to figure out who to blame than finding a solution to the problem at hand. Instead of blaming obama for every thing you don't like and for everything that goes wrong, why don't you write your senators with proposed solutions to the issues. Start a petition. Do something that is PRODUCTIVE! Any dumba** sit back blame somebody. That's the problem with people. You take somebody that's trying, ya find fault, then kick them when they're down. Bravo... I'm not for illegal immigration but a lot of people here can learn something from the principal. i was reading another post on this site which mentioned how the illegals send money back to their families and friends. At least they know how to support each other. I already know some of you are going to take that way into left field but it just shows how narrow minded some people are. BP has the knowledge and resources to address the problem. Obama does not. Would you replace the quarterback in a football game with a pitcher from baseball just because you didn't think the coach was making the right call?? Didn't think so. Logic...So many lack it! Sad.
