Feds investigate stuck gas pedals in Fords
Floor mat problem is similar to one that led to Toyota recall
WASHINGTON - Federal safety regulators are investigating a few reports of gas pedals becoming trapped by floor mats in 2010 Ford Fusions and Mercury Milans.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a preliminary investigation Friday after receiving three such complaints involving unsecured all-weather floor mats. There are no reports of crashes or injuries.
A Ford spokesman, Said Deep, said the problem was due to drivers stacking all-weather mats on top of floor mats that come with the vehicle. Ford's all-weather mats have warnings advising customers not to pile them and to secure them properly to the floor, he said.

Said Deep into my ears . . .
my car does this all the time because the clip that holds it down is broken... and i have a BMW, not a ford. i choose to check it each time i get in the car instead of forking out the money to get a new map/clip. where has all the common sense gone?
I will walk first before I buy a GM or Chrysler product.
What does this have to do with taking a bailout or not??
I applaud Ford for not taking a bailout.
40 yr G.M. owner some 15 trucks and went to ford and never been happier . thanks to the government.
I knew Ford would be targeted next. When the government can't compete, they just cripple (and try to eliminate) the competition. I will never buy anything else made by GM, Chrysler or GE.
Why would any of you fools buy ANYTHING that the filthy UAW thugs have had their criminal hands on? Buy a Tundra.
