Some Homeowners Just Stop Paying Mortgages

And they use the money they save to get back on their feet

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.
- For Alex Pemberton and Susan Reboyras, foreclosure is becoming a way of life — something they did not want but are in no hurry to get out of.

Foreclosure has allowed them to stabilize the family business. Go to Outback occasionally for a steak. Take their gas-guzzling airboat out for the weekend. Visit the Hard Rock Casino.

“Instead of the house dragging us down, it’s become a life raft,” said Mr. Pemberton, who stopped paying the mortgage on their house here last summer. “It’s really been a blessing.”

That's ridiculous ! You made the bill - you pay it! How are people just walking away? There's jobs out there, get one or two. Be responsible !

anonymous 12:08, tell that to all the auto makers whjo took bailouts or all the banks. Americans are starting to fight the real war. The government took advantage of US, now Americans are taking America back.

The banks ARE THE PROBLEM. These guys are criminals and they own our government!

They are laughing at us for paying what we borrowed (they printed out of thin air) with PRINCIPLE!
