GARY COMEGYS MAY BECOME PRESIDENT OF THE “MML”

The following paragraphs were posted yesterday on the website of the Maryland Municipal League. Mr. Comegys would be the second Salisbury official elected as the president of the League. Barrie Tilghman held that position for two terms.

Nominations materials for the MML 2010-2011 Board of Directors were mailed to chief municipal elected officials and to MML chapter presidents and secretaries in early March. The following nominations for MML's 2010-2011 Board of Directors have been received at the League office:

President - Gary A. Comegys - Council Vice President, Salisbury

Board nominations may be mailed or faxed to the League headquarters until one week before the annual convention business meeting. Additional nominations may be made by filing a nominations form at the MML registration desk until 12:00 noon on the day before the annual convention business meeting (by June 28).

MML's business meeting and election of officers will be held on Tuesday, June 29 from 9:00 - 10:15 a.m.

Correction: Gary Comegys WILL be elected president of MML.

I suppose there's nothing wrong with giving the man a swan song. But kinda bothers me that he can do that MML stuff but not much of his local duties.

Gary Comegys waddled out of his death bed to attend the Council meeting last Monday to support SAPOA. Funny how he waddled his lazy butt back home before they voted on the Waste Water issues. Gotcha Bubba, we know who your allegiance is to.

Joe:

Do you know the names of the current board of directors for the MML? If so, do they currently include anyone from the area?

And let us not forget Scott Hancock, Executive Director for MML. Scott grew up on the Eastern Shore.
