Mexican soldiers are outgunned by drug traffickers. Too bad Washington won't let them buy better arms.
Last week the Mexican Army made an important—if not entirely unexpected—discovery in the northern state of Nuevo León: a Zetas cartel hideout complete with a firing range, a fleet of armored trucks, and enough weapons to make Rambo blush. After three years of bloodshed that has claimed more than 23,000 lives, there is still no winner in Mexico's deadly drug war—the main issue when President Felipe Calderón visits Washington this week. But in the arms race behind the conflict there is a clear front runner, and it's not Mexico's government. In shootout after shootout across the country, soldiers and police are coming up against narcos with newer, better weapons. And Washington is not helping.

The CIA are the drug smugglers. It has been admitted over and over again in the past. They shipped in heroine in soldier's body bags during Viet Nam. The soldiers are "guarding" the poppy fields in Afghanistan right now. Ollie North and the retired actor who became U.S. President were involved in drug running and admitted as much!
There is no war on drugs. There is a war on people!
How about the hire the illegals crossing the border to patrol and provide intelligence/combat support

I agree with 8:39, our own military and CIA are the ones who are smuggling drugs into the country.
This is the same military who cannot defeat 2 countries neither of whom have an armor division, airforce, nor a navy. They have no boats, no planes and no tanks. They stuff grenades up the rear end of a dead cow on the side of the road and detonate it with a friggin' 7Eleven pay-as-you-go cell phone for cryin' out loud!
These wars are fake. This military could easily defeat any standing army or group of thugs in the world. They have spy satelites in space, drone military aircraft, internet weapons, listening devices, torture techniques, sound weapons, and on and on.
There is no effort to win wars are guard our country's borders. We have an elite banking/military industrial complex who is enslaving us and getting our kids hooked on drugs.

heard that story before. bad guys have better guns. we buy cops better guns, then fire the cops if they use them.
send in the Marines, let the Army worry about the middle east
