Subject Arrested For Failure To Re-Resister As A Sex Offender And Theft Charges

Location: Palmetto Street, Mobil Gardens, Seaford, DE

Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, January 5th 2010, at approximately 7:02 pm

Suspect: Patrick J. Monceax, 35 years old, of Seaford, DE

Resume: Last week Troopers investigated a theft of video games from a vehicle parked on Palmetto Street, Seaford, DE. During their investigation they were able to determine that Patrick J. Monceax had stolen the video games from the victim’s vehicle.

It was also discovered that Patrick J. Monceax sold the games to a local business for cash. After making contact with the business owner, Troopers were able to recover all the video games and return them to the victim. Troopers later located Patrick J. Monceax at a friend’s house also on Palmetto Street, Mobil Gardens, Seaford, DE.

Troopers placed Patrick J. Monceax in custody without incident and transported him to Troop 5. During their original investigation Troopers discovered that Patrick J. Monceax is a registered sex offender and did not Re-Register his new address with the State within 3 business days.

Patrick J. Monceax was formally charged with, Failure to Re-Register as a Sex Offender (f), 24 counts of Theft (m), 24 counts of Receiving Stolen Property (m), and 24 counts of Selling Stolen Property (m).

Patrick J. Monceax was arraigned, and Committed to Sussex Correction Institute in lieu of $25,000 secured bail.
