Today's Survey Question

Yesterday the MSM stated that the Swine Flu, (H1N1) is no more serious than any other flu. Do you agree, or disagree?

Totally agree

More dangerous to younger adults normally not seriously effected by seasonal flu.

As a mother, H1N1 does present a more serious risk to my children, so yes I consider it more serious in general.

Considering the regular flu kills around 40,000 here in the US annually, I'd say that the H1N1 threat is way overblown.

anonymous 11:09, actually, from what I've read, kids can handle the flu better than adults, unless they has resperatory, (sp?) problems.

I agree. Drug companies need to "gin up" a crisis. It is a part of their marketing plan. They have willing acomplices in both the gov't and media.

Relax people and enjoy life.

I saw on CBS world news that it is more dangerous to kids and young adults because they have not built up an immunity to certain strains of viruses like us old folks have.
Either way, it's scary stuff.

Agree. We will all find out later that Ohbama and his buddies have stock in the company making the Cool Aid. There is such a shortage of it you can get the shot at Walgreens in Delmar any time.

Just another scam. Trying to force socialized meds down our throats. National Emergency this dude is worse than G.W. G,W. was so stupid it was comucal at times. This one is differant. Black Adolph.

MSM hype. Swine flu, Bird flu, how do you do flu? What will be next?

Anonymous said...

Its Hype! This gets off your mind past due car payment, foreclosure, no food, no job now the government has given us something else to worry about. Hey keep your hands clean and dont let someone sneeze on you and hope for the best.

11:29~I agree totally. It is another way for the drug companies to make money.

I'm glad it's not. Big O is handling this like the clunker program. Sure hope he can handle a real crisis like a man.

My son has h1n1 right now. So far it looks like it is the same as the normal flu. There was a strain of h1n1 highlighted on 60 minutes where a high school football player was sent to the hospital and bed ridden. The program said cases like that were less than 1%. That sounds about like the flu to me.

However, I think the MSM do a disservice to us all by not just giving straight facts to raise AWARENESS without raising hype.

My two granddaughters had the swine flue. They had fevers etc..
Very tired and weak. However they survived and are fine.
I really don't think it is a serious as the Obama admin. want you to think. I believe it is something for the MSM to pull you away from the political issues that are crashing the country.

If Obama doesn't say a word about the flu and 2 people die, yall will complain about the lack of preparedness and compassion on his part. Make preparations for the worst and put out warnings and he is still ridiculed. Whats a man to do?

Anonymous said...

2:10- To bad Obama can't be proactive like that with our troops in harms way and send more back up. More people are dying over there then the so called swine flu.

Disagree

H1N1 was created from a frozen person who had the 1918 flu which killed thousands of people. Obviously, they didn't do a very good job of re-creating it from the sample.

agree

Agree! Just more fear tactics from our wonderful government. How about they report the affects the H1N1 vaccine is having on the mindless herd that is taking the newly rushed meds.

The most at risk are teens and early 20 somethings, unlike the traditional flu that hits seniors and the very young. I know about 8 ppl. most of them young kids and their parents who fared rather well through it. The immune system of a teen/young adult is at risk because they do not eat right and get less sleep so they are more prone. Also, working in the medical field for 20 something years (clerical only), I also believe that the drug companies have a LOT to do with the hysteria. they have the deepest pockets in town!

I don't know. There are so many people competing for the $$$. I think the government should tell us what we actually need to know to try and keep our children safe. I think the drug companies are in it for money, and so are the news outlets. If there is hysteria, it is the news outlets remember they are in the entertainment business too!

About equal. The difference is all the media attention and the populace that is affected.
