As many of you know, Salisbury News stated not long ago that we were going to the next level by offering a daily Radio Show as well as our very own daily News Broadcast.
In a recent interview, the Owner of a Cable Network Channel picked up on our intent and has contacted me in reference to offering us, (Salisbury News) my own Show on their Network.
Quite frankly, this is a brand new audience outside our normal daily viewers. They offered a Show every Saturday morning at 11:00 to 11:30 AM and can be seen by almost everyone on the entire Eastern Shore, DE, MD & VA.
So I'm puzzled as to what to do and perhaps with some input from all of you we can better decide what would be best. They'd like to see us go 5 days a week but I'm only one person and I can only be spread so thin.
I want to make sure we continue to deliver our daily information on line as well as provide a very different style of Television News, Opinion & Information. I meet with them tomorrow so if you'd be so kind as to let us know what your thoughts are we'd greatly appreciate it.

Joe,
I hope that it will be over the air broadcast
Why not start with two/three days a week and scout out some other people to help out on certain subjects. Hey Joe I know what ever you deside to do will work..We have great faith in you. Just dont forget about the Kettle Drive.
anonymous 11:45, The Salvation Army Kettle Drive will always be #1 on my list.
JOE ,Start small go to next level u can handle and dont forget about family and your local supporters. GOOD LUCK
Don't turn your life upside down by accepting their offer for little or no pay.
Joe,
If it's on your blog, it would be something I could click on and play when I have time to see it. I think this would give you more exposure than a set broadcast time when many of us may be busy doing other things.
Joe, We all need your information and know exactly where to find it, in our own time. You may overextend youself unecessarily. You may not find a larger following by going on the air. If you decide to do it, just make sure you are well compensated for your time and effort.
My fear is that you will need to get help for your blog. I enjoy your blog, but find great differences when you are not the monitor. Not that they are bad differences, I just perfer having you at the helm.
Joe, You've got the face made for radio...:) Just kidding, you know that. Seriously..A once a week maybe but I'd hate to see the blog suffer if you get too busy. A quick click from your page would be great. I'm sure you've already started to count the cost of time it's going to take.
I would say do it and if there is money involved pay some people to help you.
The advantage of having a blog compared to a news show is that anyone can tune in whenever they have the chance and it allows your audience to chime in with comments. This is the main reason I spend so much da*n time on this blog. This is just my opinion but I would never have the chance to watch your show on a Saturday at 11:00AM. If you really wanted to have a show I would like to see you have an weekly show that we could just hit play and watch. You could sell time slots to your advertisers. Then if the cable company was offering enough money for re-airing your show over cable go for it.
So everyone knows, there's no way I'm going to do this 5 days a week. Mind you though, they have offered to bring their production crew "to me" and I will not have to go to their studio to do this. In fact, they've offered to do it right out of our own studio in Salisbury.
Let me also say this. Salisbury News has grown to such a level, there's not many more people we can bring to us on a daily basis than we already have, unless we try additional avenues. This would broaden our viewers/listeners and they owner of the cable company doesn't mind at all if we do our own broadcast 5 days a week on line. He's been very fair in his offers, including revenue brought in by advertisers. They also know we'd be providing tens of thousands of new viewers to their station, so it's a win/win for both parties.
As for any slack on Salisbury News, no one will see any difference from what we already offer each and every day. If that happens, I'll simply give up the TV Broadcast. You can never forget where you came from.
You planning to replace Rush or Beck?
Try it and see how it goes. As long as you do not have to commit to a long term contract. Feel the waters. You will be successful.
I don't think its a great idea, Joe. In one half hour, one day a week, you can't realistically cover all the topics you would want to, or that your Salisbury News audience would want you to. You would be left with difficult decisions as to what material to cover which would ultimately lead to alienating some of your audience (and you know how batty some people around here are, there would be the "haha joe put my story on tv and not yours" childish sh**-stirring behaviour). Either way, good luck.

Maybe you could enlist the help of some of the Salisbury University students. They have several broadcasting and communications classes and all students need real life experience. Good luck!
Just don't lose your focus on Salisbury/Wicomico. This is the biggest area of the Shore, and it's problems ripple over into other areas.
This town needs you, Joe!

Paraphrasing Samuel Adams, Set brush fires of freedom in the minds of men. This is something that needs to be done and if you want a job done, give it to a busy man.
Joe ,
If you don't grow you shrink. That's a fact! Go for it.FOX
news needs some help. We need to get the message out there, any way possible. Glenn Beck needs help!

Go for it!
Go for it! Even though I don't live in the area anymore, I think the idea is a good one. I would watch if you had a webcast, that's for sure!

Hey Joe! I will definitely be watching you online since I am not in the local area. I do think a TV show once a week is a cool idea. A previous comment stated an idea about working with Salisbury University students, I think this is a great idea! Students can use all the "real world" experience they can get and you get some extra help. A win-win situation! Good Luck Joe! :) You Rawk!!
Start off slow.
Mention Glenn Beck and you might actually get on Anita & Rohm's hit list to boost ratings!
Joe, as many have already mentioned, I think a clickable link would be great. I do have to say that this blog is border line terrible when you are not at the wheel.

Joe! I think you should give it a shot if this is your desire to try it.. Be prayerful..Start out slow and see how it goes I know you'll be great...remember "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
