I have participated in many events during my over six decades on this earth, but the Patriots rally in DC Saturday far exceeds them all!
I studied many of the faces in the photos that I took. Coming in above anger in my opinion, is the fear I saw emanating from many of the faces.
I met a Russian legal immigrant, of 18 years, carrying the American Flag and a sign out of all the thousands I had seen, that carried a different message. It simply stated, PRES OBAMA YOU DUPED US. I asked if I could take a picture of her and the sign. She agreed, but first in a heavy accent she asked me if Pres. Obama could become a Dictator since he was in charge of all the military and the czars. I started to laugh, but something stopped me from doing so, as I looked into her face and saw the fear of what she thought could become a reality.
I then understood her sign and previous support of Pres. Obama, but also for the the first time I was beginning to understand the fear imanating from so many faces.
Now I felt compelled to answer her question. Hopefully, she did not detect some of the doubt I was feeling as I began my answer.
I told her that today with her presence and mine and that of hundreds of thousands of Patriots here today, that if we continue our passion and commitment to action, and carry to the polls in 2010, we can elect like minded Patriots to office, and begin a restoration of a government that truly is of, by and for the people, and that Pres Obama would not be able to become a Dictator. I then dected a small smile, and once again asked if I could take her picture with the small smile.
She agreed, we shook each others hands, pledged to each other to continue to be active, and then departed to go our separate ways, she to NJ and me back to Salisbury.
