I Told You, Kratovil Can't Handle Congress & Couldn't Care Less If He Loses This Go Around

For Kratovil, there’s more to life than Congress

RIDGLEY, Md. — Rep. Frank Kratovil (D-Md.) used to coach his sons’ soccer, baseball and basketball teams. Now, he finds out if they won their games by texting his wife.

Kratovil, a father of four boys ranging in age from 5 to 11, is one of many freshman members of Congress adjusting to his new life. Instead of hitting grounders, Kratovil is busy raising cash for what is expected to be a bruising reelection race next year.

Kratovil, who turned 41 on Friday, raised an impressive $297,000 in the first quarter. But he misses his old life.

“If someone had told me before I ran the first time what it would take to do this, they would have needed to find another candidate, because I underestimated how much money we were going to need to raise and that whole part of it — the money-raising part of it — is so time-consuming and overwhelming,” he told The Hill.

Kratovil told The Hill that if he loses his reelection race, it will not be the end of the world.

“There is much more to life than being a United States congressman. Now, I think I can do a good job. I am hoping that I can find that middle ground, reasonableness, and sort of pragmatic approach. But if, at some point, I found that I could not have that balance between the family and the job, or if I for some reason lost, life would go on. I mean, I’d go back to coaching my kids.”

Vote in favor of cap and trade and I will help you pack your office!

You already voted in favor of the stimulus bill which wasted billions...

So far, thanks for nothing.

you did?

It was just a matter of time.
TRUE COLORS. Real world of little people ( not physical).

Votes with Pelosi 90% of the time, it's time for him to go play ball with his boy's. The shore needs better representation, can anyone say Andy Harris?

Joe:

Thanks for letting us know that he's a caring dad as well as a good Congressman!

Sad part is he is right. Being in Congress (and staying there) is more about raising money than it is what you believe or how seriously you take the job.

Seriously why should they care? Once they do one term they collect their pension and health care and can sit on their behinds and laugh at everyone.

I have never stated Frank wasn't a good man, Father and Husband. My only real beef with Frank was his inexperience.

Andy Harris has been in the Senate for years and is very used to managing his time properly. We all knew it would be a massive shock to Frank and like I said, I honestly do not believe he ever thought he would win and that's what made him want it even more towards the end.

It's funny, think about it. The old saying, be careful what you wish for. Well Frank, now you know what it really means. Pelosi wanted it a thousand times more than you did and the interesting part for me is, Frank will always remember that conversation the two of us had referencing this issue and perhaps one day he'll be big enough to admit I was right.

By the way, one look at those kids of his and you can clearly tell just how much they love and respect their Father. I wish the Kratovil Family the very best.

I like Kratovil even more now that I know he has his priorities straight. And it's the fact he lacks experience in being a political wessel that makes him that much more appealing.

Because we know in your shallow existence it's all about being right, even if it is only in your own mind.

Please, this guy is an attorney, ran for office as a state's attorney and won, and ran a state prosecuturial office and you're giving him advice? He probably was laughing inside on your every word. What are your great life accomplishments again?

anonymous 7:09, what a pansy A$$!

You wet pants liberals act like your head obver heels in love with anyone who says they're a democrat.

It just cracks me up when you have been beaten and one of your own is crying like the Crybabies For Kratovil we said you were in the past.

First you challenge me, saying it wasn't true, prove it. Then I prove it and you come back with you like him even more now.

Look, IF he was a MAN he'd step down and announce he's NOT going to run again. Instead, he's going to come back saying he has to do this for his peeps and in the end screw his Family and Children, then what will you pansy A$$E$ say then. Oh, he's such a good man, sticking it out for US.

LOSERS!

Answer this though on the inexperience thing. I always hear the TEA Party types saying we need to through them ALL out and elect ALL new people. Well, how many of those do you think will have experience and how many won't? What would a good ratio be?

(K)ratovil sold us out again and voted for the cap and trade bill

I can easily understand why he would quit. It's hard work being a lawmaker. Maybe he's satisfied to take his retirement pay ($ six figures, wasn't it, plus the best health plan in the world at no cost, plus other unspecified benefits) for the rest of his life just for one year (maybe two) of ??service?? to the voters. Who wouldn"t?

Kratovil just voted yes for the energy tax-- the biggest tax increase in American history.
I thought he had more sense, but I guess not.
I'm sure going to do my part to see he gets back to coaching.
Nobody even read the stinkin' bill before they passed it-- a 300-page amendment was added at 3AM this morning by the Dems.
Thanks, Frank. You guys are turning this into a banana republic at light speed.
But even the idiots who voted Marx-acratic just because they thought change would be cool are starting to see how they messed up-- wait till this tax hits them in the butt!
Don't kill yourself raising money unless you can take it with you, Frank.
And, since we all know you're going to be a one-termer, do the right thing-- ignore Madame Mussolini and vote for what's best for your country.

anonymous 7:49, Well, to answer your question, how do you think Kratovil is doing?

He has no clue what he's doing and is a follower, being lead around like a puppet on Pelosi's string.

If we get rid of ALL of the professional politicians who have proven to drive this Country into financial ruins, starting off new is the answer.

Let's just see how much of a man Kratovil turns out to be. My bed is he'll say screw the family, he likes the attention instead.

7:29 I just love when you act like you're swatting at flies and there are none there. I'm a card carrying Republican and voted for Andy Harris. They don't come any more conservative than me. But that still doesn't change the fact I respect that Kratovil has his priorities in order (I wish more people did). But I did notice how you forgot to list your life's great accomplishments. I certainly hope this blog isn't one of them, although I have the feeling it's probably at the top of your list.

Joe that doesn't even answer the question(7:49). So you WOULD rather have ALL inexperienced politicans? So why the beef w/ Kratovil? That's what we'd have but worse if you had your way.

Anonymous said...

Way to go Bozo, voted for the Cap & Trade bill.

Anonymous said...

Yes, he voted for cap and trade. I hope that the conservatives that voted for him are happy now. He is and was just a liberal from the start and now he proves it beyond any doubt by voting for this enormous tax increase. Enjoy paying more for heat and a/c and gas and just about everything else if this bill passes the senate. Kratovil is no friend of the working people of the shore.

Doesnt matter he still gets his paycheck for life and the health benefits to, doesnt he?

Kratovil lost all the respect I had for him when he didn't prosecute Candy Baldwin for the Bridge Accident.

I called Krapovil's office Wednesday to tell him not to vote for the cap and trade bill and I will be calling after the holiday to tell him that he has lost my vote forever.

Kratovil by voting for the Cap and Trade Bill has demonstrated that he is incapable of independent thinking and action. He is a Pelosi puppie, and has solidified my position to work against his re-election.

He and his cohorts, Obama included are killing our great country. We have so many natural resources, along with nuclear energy that we could be taking advantage of, but no, we got to fart around with wind and carbon credits. How arrogant, actually believing that man can change the climate....God has to be laughing at our liberal bretheren. May He have mercy on us! And may the wisdom and strenght of our common sense conservatives prevail in the coming political battles.

I am still not sorry that Gilchrest lost as he would of voted in favor of Cap and Trade also. Kratovil's vote just proves we didnt elect the right replacement yet.

Md already has cap and trade! Do you live in another state? What are you so up in arms about! Afraid to go green and clean the air. Rising polution is directly linked to rising allergies and asthma, thereby causing rising health care. Follow the bouncing ball. Remember when your power bill went ape 2 years ago? That was Maryland's more stringent cap and trade. Kratovil helped level the playing field for the First. He added the amendment for our farmers to help them compete with the rest of the States.
