This is a good reminder that government does a heck of a lot for all of us, even those who claim that they don't want/get any help from the government. Plus, it is funny!
Somalia has a government, it's just a corrupt one. None of the country's money makes its way down to the common people, it's all hoarded by the politicians. The politicians in Somalia live a grand life. Wait, where am I seeing that same pattern unfolding?

The pirates are revered because the villages they live in are impoverished. The villages, and thus the people, are impoverished because the government is corrupt. The young males in these impoverished villages sat around together when they weren't procreating and came up with this great plan to get rich (Rich is a relative term. A turd sandwich to someone hungry and with nothing to eat is good eating). They'd get their hands on some weapons and start pirating merchant and cruise ships. The pirates have experienced a level of success with their pirating activities and they have become "heroes" to their poor and hungry fellow villagers (Heroes is a relative term since the only hero most of these villagers have known is the three legged blind dog that always seems to be able to catch the cat).

Just more liberal propoganda. Obama isn't trying to fix anything. He is trying to make the government own and control everything. It is a corrupt cabinet from the President on down. All of his financial advisor are from the failed banking industry and getting part of the cash . It reeks of the most crooked
politicians we have ever had.

wow stop pretending you know anything about somalia. you're small town americans. you see the same grocery stores gas stations and billboards every day. what do you know about somalia? And for the person who said "this is great proof of how much the US government does for us and how great it is" - you sir are an idiot. All this video does is distract you from the gross corruption in the US government. Why dont you start speaking out and instead of using every stupid 59 second video to convince yourself that "nothing is happening"?
Somalia not only has a corrupt gov't but the local warlords controls who has a job and who eats, so of course Pirates look like heroes to them. It's a funny video but it is neither an example of a democracy, republic or non existence of gov't. It is a free-for-all and the winner is the person who thinks he (forget the she in Somalia, lucky to be living) has some control over his situation. The all expansive gov't of GW Bush is better than Obama's vision of gov't but we can do better than both of those versions-get rid of the 2 party system and then we'll be making progress.
