Laurel – The Delaware State Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Salisbury man and a Laurel woman for a burglary that occurred at a home on Woods Avenue in Laurel on or about April 24, 2009.
The investigation began after the victim contacted police on April 26 and informed them their home had been burglarized. The victims were out of town from the 24th to the 26th and when they returned they discovered the burglary. Specifically, the front door to the home had been forced open.
Once inside the home the culprits stole various rifles, shotguns, DVD’s, electronic equipment and jewelry. During the investigation, police were contacted by a concerned citizen on April 26 and informed that Tabar L. Ames, 21 formally of Salisbury, MD was in possession of a rifle that he did not own and sold it to an unknown person. As police continued the investigation, they learned that Mr. Ames and an associate, Christina L. Ambrose, 20 of Laurel were residing at a home Cherry Lane that is in the same development as the home of the burglary.
Police contacted the homeowner and learned that Ambrose and Ames were temporarily staying with them and sharing a room together. While police were at the home, they discovered in their bedroom DVD’s, BB Guns and various pieces of jewelry that matched items stolen in the burglary. Once this information was obtained, the victims were informed of the identities of these persons and the victims informed police that they were familiar with the pair and that both have been in their home recently.
Police have obtained arrest warrants for Ames and Ambrose for Burglary 2nd degree, Possession of Burglary Tools, 6 counts of Theft of a Firearm, Theft, Selling Stolen Property, Conspiracy 2nd and Criminal Mischief. Investigators have been unable to locate the pair and are asking for anyone who has any information on their whereabouts to contact investigators at Troop 4 at 302.856.5850 ext 214, Crime Stoppers at 1.800.TIP.3333.
