PORK IN THE PARKIt's all about the food and entertainment! This couple seemed to be enjoying everything Pork in the Park had to offer, right down to finger licking good!
The crowd was simply unbelievable on Saturday. I came to learn today that TWO of the beer lines, (out of several) had collected more money on just those two lines than ALL of last year combined in beer sales. In fact, one collected $16,000.00 and the other collected $14,000.00 in just one day! I can't wait to see what they collected in all.
Pork in the Park was simply a monstrous success and no one went home hungry!

It was packed there and I had a good time. They are getting more and better quality vendors with hand crafted arts growing each year. If you have kids you have to have the trinket vendors but I really like the artwork whether I can afford it or not.
They need to plan for more parking, if it grows anymore people will have to park at Perdue Stadium and shuttle bus it. It was a mess getting in, I almost blew it off but glad I didn't.
Some of those beer sales can be attributed to me...it was my day to forget all about healthy eating. Believe me, I succeeded!
Apparently it is good to be a pork and beer vendor during a recession! Maybe the government can start selling all of their "pork." Skin & Bones had the best ribs that I have ever had in my whole life and I used to work at a ribs house so I know some good ribs! I had a half rack from each vendor-all very delicious!
Do any of the proceeds from this event go to any charities?
Teriffic day Saturday at the festival and to think they had over 9000 Saturday evening at the Shorebirds game. In my opinion, a
lot of people need thanking for a great week-end, especially the man upstairs for wonderful weather!

Wow, that's pretty good for a stadium with a 5200 person capacity. 3800 standing room only tickets sold. That is awesome. Or you just made it up. One or the other. I'm leaning toward you making it up.
The vendors are way to close together there. It wasnt a problem in previous years because of the smaller crowds, but the event has grown. Parking was a nightmare and so was trying to move around near the food vendors. I still have yet to hear a word about the barb-b-que contest. This seems like this event is loosing its true meaning and is more worried about how many people can show up. Oh well, money talks. Just seems like another traditional event that will never be the same.
Actually Friday night the Shorebirds had close to 9000 fans,
and Saturday night another great turnout with almost 7000. I was there Saturday night. In my opinion, a good barbcue at
the stadium would be well received.
This was my family first year. We had a wonderful time. The food was great and the people were very friendly. There was one setback: As we were coming into the park, their were guys with flags who was instructing the traffic flow that lead us out of the park and there were no signs posted to where you could park.
I see what you mean....there sure was a lot of pork in that park!
It was disorganized at best the lines were way to long and the food was nasty and then you had to look at all the fat toothless bikers and their women who packed as much as they could in their pants and what they couldn't hung over their belt.
Geeze, 7:55 PM, who gave you a major wedgie? I suppose you think hungry people shouldn't get in line when they want to eat?? What's your solution to keeping the lines from being "to" long? Should they just bump you up to the front so you can complain faster about how you think the food is lousy? Should the "fat toothless bikers and their women who packed as much as they could in their pants and what they couldn't hung over their belt" register their intent to attend so you don't have to see them? Here's a clue: DON'T LOOK. And even the most organized event can look disorganized when attended by such huge crowds. There's a grinch in every crowd (sometimes it's me) and this time it appears to have been you.
You want a valid complaint? Complain about the "Lotions and Things" or whatever it was called, where they were selling scanty underwear and sexual lubricants. That truly did not belong there, at a family event.
"Lotions and Things" will not be welcome at any event in the future.They showed horrible judgement.
Oink, Oink...looks like the pigs were out on Saturday (feed me Seymour)! It was a disgusting site to see people that weigh 300 or more pounds shoveling the food in like it was their last meal. I can understand now why PRMC has so many heart patients.
Hey Granny sorry if you were one of them I just thought it should be more family oriented and less Hells Angels. And as far as the lines if they had organized lines it might have moved quicker and maybe professional servers instead of Cletus the slobbering idiot. Of course maybe we can have one for beautiful people like me lol.
Me, a Hell's Angel? Gee, thanks for the compliment! Nope, I have all my teeth (and they're nice and straight, too) and don't have a belly hanging over my waistband. I wear size 10 petite slacks, thank you very much, and when I was there, I saw no such people as you have described. But, hey, disgusting, toothless fat people need love, too!
Did Lotions and Things misunderstand the meaning of Pork in the Park? Hope they were selling small bags of flour too.

Btw, I encourage everyone who was offended by "Lotions and Things" to email their protests to all the email addresses they can find on the Wicomico County Department of Parks and Recreation's web page. It's one thing to complain; it's quite another to complain to the right people!
We blew into the event late Sunday just before the event was closing. It was great with no crowds or parking problems...even though many of the vendors were starting to pack up, we were still able to get pulled pork sandwiches from award winning cooks...even fresh baked pizza was plentiful and all at discounted prices at this late hour. PORK IN THE PARK IS AN AWESOME EVENT WITH FOOD TO DIE FOR!!! It's sure to become an annual favorite for us!!
