The Lines Were Still Crazy On Sunday!

As you can see there was still a wait in some of the lines to grab some food and the place was packed again on Sunday. Not as busy as Saturday but it was busy. Some vendors had even sold out the day before as they simply couldn't keep up with the volume. While some complained, many have to realize that it takes 12 hours to cook this food.
Nevertheless, I couldn't be more please for Wicomico County. No one got out of line. No one got arrested. It was good clean fun. Well, that is, until you got home and realized just how much you had eaten. Falling asleep couldn't have been a challenge for anyone who attended this event.

Sorry I missed you. Hope you didn't feel I was intruding on your private space when I called you.
I hope other people reading this saw the great-grandmother in the black and white striped shirt dancing all by herself in front of the band. Too cool! I joined her and had a blast! People found me on the grounds and asked me to go back and dance. Something about one too many beers causing one to lose one's inhibitions for me, I guess. There was a little boy who came out to dance with me and busted a move or two, and I was surprised that I could dance some steps I never knew I could. He was adorable.

Had a great time, bought myself some Incan jewelry and a beautiful poncho and gifts for the grandkids. Smokin' Dudes had the best bbq, imo.

This is an event not to be missed! If you didn't go, plan on it next year. You won't be sorry!

The food wasn't great it was very generic not "world class" at all. It was also overpriced. At $7 you get the smallest pulled pork sandwich I've ever seen. Thumbs down to pork in the park.

And today we get rain to wash all the bbq sauce off the grass.

Topper, When I had left Pork in the Park I spoke with Deputies and they had informed me there had been no arrests or any real problems. According to the Press Release, obviously someone had been arrested. I'll bet some 50,000 people camje through there this weekend and I'd say while this was a shame something had to happen, I'm pleased to hear there was only one situation.

Sez you, 9:56 AM. I thought hubby's Smokin' Dudes bbq was among the best I've had, so tender and soft. And my sandwich from Skin and Bones had so much meat, I had to eat around it before I could pick it up and eat the sandwich. The prices were not much more than in sit-down restaurants, and surely you realize these guys incurred some mondo expenses moving all their equipment there and setting it up. I've never attended a festival of any kind where the food was at bargain-basement prices. I'm sorry you were disappointed. But there was so much more there than food! The vendors are always my favorite, although this stuck-up prude of a granny didn't think the booth with scanty lingerie and "lotions" was exactly a family-friendly business to have there and I question somebody's judgement here.

But I digress. The fun is in walking around, having a beer or 4 (Dogfish Head 90 minute), meeting up with old friends, making new ones, listening to, and geting "lubricated" enough to dance to the music, enjoying the party atmosphere and being outside in the fresh air.

It may be called "Pork in the Park," but it ain't all about the food!
