It's an A320, about the size of a Boeing 757... What the local news here in NYC is saying...

What a pilot and co-pilot, he put that puppy down without it breaking up, unbelievable.

Based on the interviews with passengers I am hearing, this pilot deserves an accommodation.
Good job!

146 passengers includes 5 crew. No deaths reported. All rescued. Planned emergency landing after birds ingested in both engines. Great work on behalf of pilots!Could have been so much worse!

You know that you can shoot as many canadian gesse a day as you want I beleive, You cant shoot them and leave them laying in the field, that wouldnt be right. I think there is so many of them its an open season. Unlimited numbers you can HARVEST, we should get rid of some of them and feed them to people who need food. Theres seems to be enough of them that wouldnt affect the flocks or the species. In Argentina they do the same with pigeons, they destroy the crops.(Did you know that Argintina has almost 95% of their farm land irregated.)

Clearly a good flight crew to get the plane down without disaster and to get everyone to safety.

It eerily reminded me of the Air Florida flight that crashed into the Potomac in the wintertime and it could have been alot worse.

After reading some of this pilot's background, I believe there couldn't have been anyone better to put that plane down without losing any lives. The passengers and crew were truly blessed to have that gentleman piloting that aircraft. He may feel like he was just doing what he had been trained to do, but he is a hero. What a remarkable and miraculous story.

They should promote him to pilot on air-force one if he wants it.
Him and his co-pilot.
