DC Government & President Bush Declare State of Emergency!

This is completely out of control!
$15 Million is not enough money to have a parade and a sit in on the mall!
Has anyone asked for advise from the Tournament of Roses people, or the Macy's folks?
Has anyone talked to the hundreds upon hundreds of groups that have marched on and sat on the Mall in Washington?
By declaring a 'State of Emergency', this action allows the District of Columbia to request financial assistance from FEMA to cover the costs of the Inauguration that exceed the Congressional allocation of $15 Million Dollars for the event. Citing the “excessively large” numbers expected to converge on DC, the price tag is expected to exceed $47 MILLION DOLLARS!! Of course, the bulk of this expenditure is security related.
$47 Mill. for a man that won't even show us his Birth Certificate!
Maryland and Virginia are also expected to exceed their budgeted expenditures for this event as well and will probably be asking for FEMA help too!
Worcester County Sheriffs are assisting as are the Ocean City Police Department. What has been promoted as an honor for our local law enforcement to participate in going to end up costing us a lot more than we ever imagined.
President Bush, is supposedly one of the most hated men in the world and we don't spend this kind of money when he goes to Capital Hill. I would think that security would be a lot more costly for the most hated man in the world than it would be for a man who is as loved as Mr. Obama.
All of this while millions of Americans are losing their homes and the Government is about to lower the boom on the aged and disabled.

"President Bush, is supposedly one of the most hated men in the world"

From reading some of the comments on this blog, you'd think the most hated man in the world is Barack Obama. Just saying.

With an approval rating in the teens. The middle east, in the turmoil that it is in because of our foriegn policies. He even gets shoes thrown at him, and has the the same likeabilty scores as Truman had on his departure from office.

The media loves Obama, they have given him carte blanche and have been very easy on him.
It is only the blogosphere that has been questioning some very valid points.
And while I would love to see America move forward with a man of a different race be our President; I do want to know that he is constitutionally eligible.

I know, I know. I'm beating the same dead horse, but the ramifications are far to deep to ignore.

Not to mention the setback that African Americans across the country will experience if he is lying.
I adhere by what Dr. King so eloquently spoke about judging a man by the content of his character and not the color of his skin.
It makes me very sad that more African Americans haven't stood up and had the same concerns.

Yep. I hope you find some peace on this issue.

Take the time and read the comments just here on this blog about Obama and you tell me why it is costing us so much.
So many people are totally filled with hate for Obama. More hate, more unsafe, means more protection needed.

The Obama haters, the same ones who whine about Democrats spending money in general are the same ones who are making everything related to Obama's Inauguration cost us more and more.
They'd never admit it though. Go figure.

It will be a "setback that African Americans across the country will experience if he is lying."

Why would that be? I don't think it was a "setback" to whites for the lying that G.W. Bush has done. Or any of the other useless presidents. Don't you think that sort of thinking is backwards in and of itself?

You hve made it known that you don't think Obama is constitutionally eligible to be our president. That's okay I guess. But not even the Supreme Court is playing that game.

Perhaps the Inauguration is the "test" which has been prepared for Obama. Better yet, the "test" is for the American People. Obama knows what is about to happen to Americans. He is the puppet who has been chosen to oversee it.

there should be some way EACH state has to pay something not just leave Maryland, Virginia and DC with the bill.

Cut back and stay in budget. DC has had crowds before and has survived. There's no Armageddon here.

it's so easy to spend money you don't have that isn't yours.
about the documents, if there's nothing to hide, why hide?
