WBAL Radio as reported by John Matthews and Associated Press
Both sides in a case between Salisbury police chief Allan Webster and blogger Joe Albero reached a settlement Wednesday, avoiding a courtroom showdown.
Officials at the Worcester County District Court said Wednesday the suit has been passed for settlement.
Albero said on his blog this morning that there was an agreement that doesn't involve money, and confirmed the resolution in an interview. He would not provide details of the settlement.
Attorneys for Webster were not available for comment.
Webster filed the nearly $10,000 lawsuit last March, claiming Albero defamed his character with false statements about him on Albero's blog. Webster also claims his privacy was invaded.
Albero is frequently critical of Lower Shore public officials on his Web site, Salisbury News.
