Police chief, blogger reach settlement

A settlement was reached yesterday in a case involving Salisbury Police Chief Allan Webster and blogger Joe Albero, avoiding a court battle.
Worcester County District Court officials said the suit has been approved for settlement. Albero said on his blog yesterday that the agreement does not involve money, and he confirmed the resolution in an interview, providing no details.
Attorneys for Webster were not available for comment.
Webster filed the nearly $10,000 lawsuit in March, claiming that Albero defamed his character with false statements about him on Albero's blog and invaded his privacy.
