l974 Mustang II, Mach I
I bought it while going to college,waiting tables, traded it on for a "family" $2,800. Had it paid for before trade.
The first brand new car I bought was a custom ordered 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle with a bench seat, 4 on the floor, 402 cu.in. engine with 240 hp and NO a/c. It was purchased from Records Chevrolet in Princess Anne. We later traded it in on a new 1977 Camero. I wish I still had it.
My very first car was a 1991 Acura Integra! My Dad and StepMom bought it for me before I turned 16, and when I turned 16 and got my first job...well let's just say that's the day the bills started coming in.
I traded it in 2 years later for a Checvy Blazer...wish I had kept that little car, a little longer =)
This one is really funny. My first car was a white Gremlin!!!! (I believe 1970) At that time, it cost $1000.00 and I drove it for five years before buying my own car -1975 red mustang! That was $5000.00 brand new! I worked to pay for the gas and insurance!
Kids now think their parents should buy them a NEW car (or almost new) and pay for their insurance/gas!
My opinion - if they want a car, they should contribute to the cost of it! I worked back then - why do the young people just want to have things handed to them.
The mustang stayed in the family for a long time until it finally "went to mustang heaven"
1983 Ford Escort Wagon. It was baby blue. I bought it when I turned 18, and my mom did the deal. The seller told us it had 43K miles on it, but this is back when the odometers only went to 99,999. Turns out, it actually had 143,000 and only lasted 8 months. I was moving to OC in April 1989, and the engine caught fire just before the Berlin State Police barracks. I remember it breaking down, pulling up the hood, and seeing fire on the engine. I had no idea what was about to happen, so I dove into the drainage ditch on the side of Rt. 50. Well, someone with a fire extinguisher stopped, and put it out.
That was the first day of living on the shore/OC area for good. It was a heck of a start, but I'll never forget it.

Loved it so much I've had Mustangs most of my life and very happy with the new "retro" looking models of which I have a 2007 convertable.
1964 Chevelle Malibu Convertible.Sweet ride. Bought it from brother.Engine blew, sold real cheap.Lots of regrets
1975 Chevy Vega with manual transmission.
I bought it used in 1983 for $100.00.
It was the color of yellow highway paint and burned more oil than gas, but I loved it!
1962 Corvair Monza , black with red racing stripe from the hood to the truck. Bought it from Bill Mayne. Loved it, especially the three foot stick shift and the 38 second 0-60mph acceleration. Traded it for a 1968 Camaro SS396. Slight bit of difference in pickup.
My first car was a 1990? Toyota Tercel. It was blue, 3 speed, 2 door and a heap of junk. My Mom bought it for us - as in me and my 2 brothers to share. That car taught me how to spin the tires at a stop light..hahaha.... It died when my hubby (we kept the car for some time)was driving it at night - it caught on fire, he let it burn in the middle of the road. I loved that car, piece of junk or not, it was a great conversation piece.
99 ford mustang... bought it... traded it in since it was guzzlin too much gas. i loved it though
1937 green Packard 4-door...bought it used in 1950 for $300...two elderly ladies used it to go to church, ha.
My first car was a 1966 Impala Super Sport it was not only fast, it had a/c and power steering. Dual exhaust, 2 door hardtop, bucket seats and a great console. I paid $350 of my own money. I loved that car and had more fun than one person should but not enough to keep it. I traded down for a green 1964 1/2 mustang with no a/c, wish I had kept the Chevy. The Chevy was a smooth ride, the mustang was like riding with no tires, felt every bump in the road. It was fun and that was all that mattered.
67 Ford Galaxy 500 Tan and bondo grey latter cover by sort of matching paint, Black interior, AM radio, four door with a 289. Paid $125 (even though it was "given to me" and spent the next 6 months paying for repairs to get it inspected.
My parents purchased my first car which was a 1965 Chev Malibu, white, 4 door, from Oliphant Chevrolet.
Years later, I traded the Malibu in on a 1971 Pontiac Firebird, red, which was purchased from Powell Buick Pontiac.
Then payments,insurance and maintenance became my responsibility.

S%$t gree. I painted it 2 days after I got and kept that car for 10= years and logged over 300,000 miles on 5 engines. Wish I still had it!!
1983 Mustang GT - parents handed me down an absolute cherry car...t-roofs didn't leak ...5-speed, cranberry color!!! all done up and quick...headers, flow masters, banging stereo system, etc...
fishtailed in the rain and the tree got in my way - killed it! poor baby! too young and too dumb for that power!
1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 auto white. Traded for 1966 Dodge Charger 383 auto silver. Sold for $600.00 and bought a 1969 Dodge Dart GT w/340 4bbl. I was 17 years old. I lost my job, went into the Army and sold it for $35.00 to a junk yard. I was an absolute unadulterated idiot.
Bought my first car at sixteen. It was a 1980 Chevrolet Chevette. I had to save birthday money and Christmas money. Paid $400 from a bank auction. Cost me about $6 to fill up. Wish I had it now!!!

1967 Camaro RS, split cost of $1500 with my parents. This after wrecking my dads 1978 Bronco on the first two consecutive weekends I had my license! Kept thru college, tagged last in 1986. Still have car and in the process of rebuilding entire car from the ground up. Never get rid of your baby!

In 1963 I bought a black 36' Chevy
2 door sedan. I got caught by a cop driving it at age 15. Wish I still had it. Then came a dark green 1952 Plymouth, paid $95 for it, drove it a year and got $95 trade-in on a 1960 black VW bug. Then came graduation from HS and my 1st new car, a dark green 1966 Dodge Dart GT. Then at least one new car every other year until kids.

1978 Chevy Nova with a 305 2 barrel
It was my grandfathers car and when he died the family decided to give it to me.
Ran it for a number of years until I sold it and bought a 1972 Monte Carlo.
