WHY is Pam Oland attending the MML conference in OC this week? She is supposed to be a CPA, NOT a city administrator, mayor or council person.
WHY are we paying for her to be hanging out in OC for 3 days instead of posting to the general ledger, preparing for closing the books at year end, which is NEXT WEEK?
WHY are we paying Trice, Geary & Myers for support staff to get the books up-to-date when we were already told the audit would be late, AGAIN?
WHY is Pam Oland still in the city's employ? Don't answer that, we know she is Kasey Tilghman's friend from college.

Oland was probably spared being canned at Perdue because of her connection to Barrie. Both of them have got to go ASAP.
She has the money in the budget
for education. So , she will spend it! She certainly needs all the education she can get.
She should be working overtime to produce financial reports in a timely manner for council. What a waste of Hmmm Ummm Human waste ROFLMAO Where did they get her? Perdue? Or did they scoop her out of the Wicomico River with a crap net? opps I meant crab net.
Education I can agree with, IF that education has anything to do with her position as CPA. Anything other than that, there is no reason for her to be out of the office rubbing elbows with the politicians. She should be in her office, getting the books squared away or is that asking to much of her?
The MML conference is more of a social experience ( eating, drinking, political contacts,etc) than educational. Instead of just pointing out what a waste of time and money it is to send Pam Oland, you should find out who else is going and how much the taxpayers get soaked for the whole bunch of them.

I have to disagree with you, it is not a social experience and it is not designed to be that way. The problen is you have people like the minions in Barrieland abusing a great opportunity for education and networking.
She should absolutely be in her office doing HER work for a change but I know that's asking alot. No wonder everything is always late - with her play comes before work.
So, does this trip to OC include a hotel room at our expense? You can bet it does. And I know these affairs are far from educational in nature, no mater how you try to color it. It disgusts me that she has no concern about the tax dollars being waisted, and she's supposed to be the towns fiscal waist watchdog! Who else is there that doesn't need to be, at the tax payers expense?

Monday is June 30th, the END OF FISCAL 2008. This wench should be in her office making damned sure ALL the accounts are posted and reconciled instead of hanging out in OC. She gets a paid vacation, if she wants to hang out in OC let her do it on HER time and her dime, not ours.
Of course the audit is going to be late, we can't keep our director of finance in her office long enough to keep the books straight. So much for Bubbas statement "you can get a financial picture at any given time". Sure you can get a picture, it WILL be wrong but you'll get a picture nonetheless.
Shut the city down. Clean house and start from scratch.
