Basketball Takes Center Stage At Wicomico County Civic Center

There is a great Basketball Tournament going on this weekend at the Civic Center this weekend. It's raining, it's a boring weekend, for $7.00 ALL DAY you can hang out and watch some great competition. I was there last night and it really was enjoyable. Snow Hill was down by 10 points their entire game and in the end, (right at the end) they came back to win by 10 points. It was an exciting game to say the least.

WICOMICO COUNTY EXECUTIVE ANNOUNCES COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT GRANTS

Prior to delivering the annual “State of the County” address, Wicomico County Executive Richard M. Pollitt, Jr., unveiled the county’s Community Enrichment Grants Program. An amount of $50,000 for grants to non-profit organizations was submitted by Pollitt and approved by the County Council last June for the Fiscal Year 2008 Budget.

In announcing the program, Pollitt said, “It is important that our citizen’s lives be enhanced by exposure to the arts and uplifting social and recreational opportunities. I believe that a community thrives when government works in partnership with its citizens to create the ideal place that we call ‘home.”

Pollitt said that applications for the program are available from his office in the Government Office Building. He also encouraged citizens to contact him by phone at 410-548-4801 or by email at rickpollitt@wicomicocounty.org.

The deadline for applications to the Community Enrichment Grants Program is February 12th.

Breaking News!

At 6:00 AM this morning there was a stabbing at the WCDC. The victim was stabbed multiple times in the back and once in the head.

At 10:00 AM the WCDC contacted the WCSO about the stabbing and asked that their Team, (Wicomico County Bureau Of Investigations) come in and investigate. No inmates are talking, the victim refuses to say anything and the suspect refuses to talk.

More importantly, because so much time has passed before the Detention Center contacted the WCSO, the crime scene was completely compromised. The victim was taken to PRMC, treated and released back to the WCDC.

Mayor Barrie Tilghman Denies Sheriff Lewis A City Parking Pass

Mayor Barrie Tilghman told the County she will not give Sheriff Mike Lewis a Parking Pass in the City of Salisbury.

On many occasions, Sheriff Lewis comes into the City in an unmarked Dodge SUV to take care of business. One day, County Council President John Cannon noticed Sheriff Lewis putting quarters into a Meter and said, don't you have a Parking Pass? Sheriff Lewis replied, no.

That being said, Council President Cannon went through the proper channels to ask for a Pass for Sheriff Lewis and the Mayor denied the request. Now let's see, Brew River is in the County, isn't it? So is Market Street Inn, right?

I'm not at all suggesting that Sheriff Lewis would ever be on the lookout for Mayor Barrie Tilghman but if it were me, let's not even go there. County Council Members get these Parking Passes as well as the City Council. I guess now that Barrie has joined the Hillary Clinton Team, she thinks she's above the law and can't be touched? How quickly she forgot what happened to her Daughter.

This could be Political Suicide for Barry Tilghman, that's for sure. In the very least, there's a sky blue Volvo that I'm confident all County Deputies will now have tattooed in their brains while driving down the road, day or night.

Salisbury Is A Pain In The Ash!

WalMart & Sam's Club sites are full of fly ash used to stabilize the mudholes both sites became just before paving. As a certified FOB the city said sure no problem bring all you need in. Joe this came from DP & L Indian River Site and was hauled in there for 2 weeks in every dump truck available to Interstate out of Delmar,MD This stuff happened behind the scenes and if the water wells adjacent to these sites become contaminated who's bill will that be on? I'll bet Salisbury's because they authorized it like many other things "Sure fob go right ahead."

The exact problem at the locations mentined and this doesn't include health issues!

Another Worthy Comment

I stumbled across this blog by accident and I was compelled to add my 2 cents. I am not from this area nor am I a firefighter. What I found here is totally amazing and paltry. If I understand the scenario the correctly - an off duty fireman arrived at the scene first and ran into a building without regard to his health and safety to save if not the occupants the structure itself. It this true!? What is wrong with you people? What is all this petty squabbling about? If it was my home and I knew there was an off duty fireman there I would be begging him to help. In my uneducated opinion I would think the amount of damage a fire can do in a mere five minutes would be intangibly Huge. The man should be commended and recognized for a selfless act (which rarely happens this in the day in age). All of you that condemned him or attacked his character should be ashamed of yourselves. What happened to the fireman’s creed? Does it exist there?

I keep thinking back to when I was in elementary school and all the boys wanted to grow up to be firemen. Firemen were considered brave, kind, considerate heroes. If the comments made on this blog are from his fellow firefighters it is no wonder there are no heroes left in the world. You are showing your true character and I would be ashamed to have my children want to grow up to be like you.

An Interesting Comment On The WCDC

A VERY close look is required when dealing with 3D (Director Doug Devenyns). Just who is this guy, anyway? He claims years of experience in the Navy, but no one has yet witnessed any Military knowledge out of him. Take a good look at the way he is standing in the photo offered to get here. There's no Military pride or training in him. Was he really in the Military, or could it be 3D isn't who he claims to be?

One of his first actions upon assuming control of WCDC was to throw out all the "books", the rules and regulations, the descriptions of how jobs are to be accomplished while on duty. These have yet to be replaced with anything - except when someone from the Standards or DoJ demand to see one, and then it sort of magically appears out of thin air. Of course, the moment Standards or DoJ leaves, so does that bit of paper, never to be seen until requested by someone else.

Since his appointment as Director of WCDC, inmates have committed suicide and not been found for HOURS, have managed to get cell phones and cell phone batteries into the facility so that they can conduct drug deals or threaten potential witnesses. They conceal their actions behind blankets hung like curtains, and routinely use officers to get contraband smuggled in. Officers have affairs with inmates, which used to be against the rules, but since those rules are gone, there's nothing to stop the practice now. Those who get caught doing wrong wait for months to see whether they'll be punished or not, and most often nothing happens to them. To say that morale is low is a gross understatement. Officers are leaving WCDC in droves. The number of experienced officers is shrinking to an alarming rate, and many of the new officers are so afraid of the inmates that they don't even show up to an ASAP (inmate brawl) to back up their fellow officers.

DDD has never stood a post in a jail and knows almost nothing about security, leadership or support of his staff, yet he has charge of a jail. Who's brilliant idea was this? His ignorance is glaring and, if allowed to continue, will get some officer killed, if not more than one. He's already had one escape, which Dopy and the Seven Dwarves did nothing about. How long before there is a mass break out of U.S.Marshall inmates? The tax payers of Wicomico and the residents of all three states are not safe while Director Doug Devenyns is in charge of the jail.

The Fire In Delmar, It Was Wayne Barrall Sr.'s Home!

Looks like common sense doesn't run in this Fire Fighters Family? My earlier Post expressed how neighbors had been complaining how tons of white smoke would regularly come out of this chimney and it was only a matter of time.

It doesn't surprise me Wayne Jr. is now using a camera and not instructing or fighting fires. I will say, I'm certainly glad no one was hurt but this is the type of fire someone should have known better. We're not talking about faulty wires. We're talking about someone not taking proper care of their chimney and now their home stinks, bad! It's probably a bit water logged now too.

Fire Moments Ago In Downtown Delmar

After another Tip, I was asked to check out a fire in progress in Downtown Delmar, Delaware. While speaking to the neighbors, this home is constantly burning huge fires in their fireplace and they said it was just a matter of time. One Fire Fighter said when they first arrived there were flames coming out of the chimney. Delmar quickly responded and got things under control in no time. Salisbury arrived after a while to back Delmar up. The DT, 47 & 16 were nowhere to be found. LOL Thanks Fire Woman.

The AZA Goes Into Damage Control Mode

"AZA-accredited zoos are safe. Until this incident, there had not been a visitor fatality resulting from an animal escape at an AZA-accredited zoo."

Yes, this is true. HOWEVER, they fail to mention the Keeper Staff Deaths possibly in the hundreds. Zoo's are in fact to be designed to keep the public safe, duh. However, look at what happened in Salisbury with the Jaguar. Both Bears got out at one point where the current interim Director used carrots to walk Chumley back into his Exhibit. The male Bison got out of his Exhibit because a Zookeeper didn't have the pin on properly on one of the gates and he simply pushed his way through and got out. Everyone had gone to lunch at the Zoo and some lady and a child in a stroller came up to the Office and told the Staff the Bison had escaped.

So the AZA can go pound their chest all they want, it's HUMAN ERROR that causes these severe problems at a Zoo and to think the Salisbury Zoo is WINGING it and the chances of error grow much stronger without a consistent and professional Staff.

"The San Francisco Zoo is a great zoo, it's an accredited AZA member in good standing, and it has our support during this difficult time." Yeah, that's what you'd expect from the AZA when someone is current on their dues.

The San Francisco Zoo Is Lying!

Similar to the shenanigans at The Salisbury Zoo back when the Jaguar "escaped," The Salisbury Zoo did everything they could to lie and skirt around the fact that a Zookeeper made TWO HUGE mistakes and was not properly trained before being in charge of that Exhibit. He not only left the door open from the den into the exhibit, he also left the gate open that takes you from the exhibit to the outside world.

Some are questioning the actual physical ability of such an animal at the SF Zoo to take such a leap and if there's one thing Zoo's are notorious for, it's lying. It was Christmas Day, the Zoo was open. More than likely the normal Professional Staff wasn't there and someone more than likely let this animal out. Oh, let me rephrase that the way we do it locally. The animal ESCAPED.

The Salisbury Zoo Staff lied by stating they had the drugs to dart the animal and THEY DID NOT. They claimed the Police were there, yet they never entered the grounds and stayed outside the gates. That day, the Salisbury Zoo was closed and young children had just been in that area on a private tour. Several people were very lucky they didn't lose their lives and or get badly hurt that day as well.

To this day the Salisbury Zoo is still without a Director, Vet Tech. and is being run by a shoestring. They're so desperate they hired yet another Security Guard to become a Zookeeper.

I'm sad for those people who lost their life and or were hurt by this Wild Animal. However, I'm just as sad for the animals life being taken at the expense of someone who could have been hung over or inexperienced doing someone else's job. We'll see what the investigation brings but my guess is that the AZA will do everything possible to cover up the truth.

The Tilghman Times Is Forced To Publish SPD Press Releases

Salisbury News, (ME) has been posting the Salisbury Police Department Press Releases for quite some time now and I had always wondered why the Tilghman Times hadn't been doing so for many years past? Before I found a way to access this information, The Tilghman Times always had access to it, yet they never produced it unless it was front page news.

I had heard Chief Webster state that they always sent their Press Releases to The Tilghman Times but they never chose to print them. Nevertheless, all of a sudden The Tilghman Times is now producing these releases and the community is now reading some, (NOT ALL) of them as they pick and choose what they'll print.

Maybe there's a certain standard Newspapers agree to put out there in the hopes of not letting too many people know just how bad things are in their communities? Nevertheless, the pressure is on and they finally started to fold and you are starting to become better informed as to what's truly going on in Salisbury.

I personally feel the SPD is doing a pretty damn good job and knowing they are partnering up with the WCSO makes perfect sense. They are ALL in the business to fight crime and Salisbury is in Wicomico County. With any luck criminals will start to learn Salisbury isn't as easy a target as they have enjoyed in the past.

Now if the SPD could only keep up on these Press Releases and produce them every other day, instead of once a week or up to 9 days at a time, that would be nice.

Wicomico County Sheriff's Department Press Releases

On 12-24-07 Deputies responded to 36973 Old Ocean City Road in Willards for a 911 hang up/domestic. Upon arrival Deputies made contact with the residents at that location. While conducting the domestic investigation, Deputies observed suspect marijuana in plain view. Deputies questioned Leonard Jones Jr. about the CDS and Jones advised that there was additional CDS & CDS Paraphernalia in his bedroom. Deputies located the additional CDS & CDS Paraphernalia and placed Jones under arrest.

On 12-21-07 at 5:06 AM, DFC Parker responded to the area of 728 N. Westover Drive for an unknown domestic situation. After an investigation, it was learned that Solome Woldemariam broke into 728 N. Westover and committed MDOP under $500.00 while inside. The residence was that of her ex boyfriend.

I left went to the scene and saw several cars out front of house.
Second i saw police running up.
Than i saw a vehicle in the back yard.
Know the fire was on a-d corner.

Old Man Duvall Is Losing It!

Christamas Blaze

Some time around 8:00 this evening a couple was driving down Camden Ave in Fruitland and they spotted flames coming out of the side the this home.

The gentleman relentlessly pounded on the door while they called 911 in the hopes of making sure if there was anyone inside they would become aware of the fire. Fortunately there was no one home and the Fruitland Police, (5) arrived on the scene while an Off Duty Salisbury Fire Fighter, (John Gerity) heard the call over his pager and happened to be running to a store close by the get some milk. One of the Fruitland Police Officers and John broke through the front door and were actually able to put out the fire with Fire Extinguishers BEFORE the Fruitland Fire Department arrived.

The interesting part, (so I'm told) was that Station 16 from Salisbury arrived at the same time Fruitland did. Keep in mind this is an all Volunteer Fire Department in Fruitland as well as this being Christmas Day, so hats off to all involved, especially John & the FPD. A special thanks also goes out to the couple who noticed the fire and attempted to do all they could to make sure no one was inside. I'm told the gentleman who was knocking on the door was a bit overwhelmed with smoke but is fine.

Special People Bring A Special Christmas For Even More Special People

Today, (Christmas Eve) was yet another life altering day, one in which I will never forget for as long as I live.

The WCSO and a very special Lady, Jackie Ramsey, (of Pittsville) came to Booth Street to help 15 Families with more than 40 children enjoy a Christmas they'll never forget. Jackie works with the Salvation Army and spends countless hours all year long collecting donations that fill their home throughout the year. Her Husband even said, we need a bigger house for all these gifts each year.

The Special Operation Unit received contributions from sworn and civilian personnel in the WCSO, the W.C. FOP Lodge #111, Baptist Tot Ministry, Circuit City, WalMart & K-Mart made this project a very successful event and deserve a very special Thank You! More importantly, Mike & Jackie Ramsey who have been doing this for years deserve to be recognized for all that they do.

On a personal note, I want to thank the WCSO for their invitation to this special event. WBOC, WMDT & The Daily Times was there and I have to truly tell you, I think we enjoyed this event more than anyone else there. Looking through the lens of a camera, there simply wasn't a bad shot to be had. I wish Blogger gave me more room to share more photos because this was just too cool.

How Hard Did YOU Shop This Year?

With just over 5,000 hits already today, looks to me like there's not too many people traveling and there's not too many people shopping either.

I can tell you that as I get older I'm not too interested in any kind of gifts. The Albero household is fortunate enough to get the things we "need" when we need it. That's another trick in life. You should look in your shopping carts when you're heading to the register and say, now what in this cart are items we NEED? You'd be amazed at the amount of things you could easily pull out of the cart and put back.

Americans are so spoiled with getting whatever they want, not need. The next thing you know you're foreclosing on your home and saying, I don't know how this happened? Dee, Dee, Deeee! Like I said in a comment the other day. Making money is easy. Managing money is far more difficult and MOST, yes, you heard me, MOST Americans do not have a clue as to how to manage their money. Heck, just look at your leaders in the City. Comegys, See, Shanie, they can't manage their own money, yet they've been hand chosen by this Mayor to run your finances. As Dr. Phil says, "How's it working for you?"

Getting back to Christmas. I have three items under the tree for my Wife. One of them is actually for my Wife and Grandson combined, I cheated on that one a little bit. However, it will make the two of them very happy, even though its mainly for the Grandson. The other two items are very small but they're something I know she'll very much enjoy and be proud of. As for our children, we bought them one gift each but they're very practical and will go a VERY long way. I'll tell you what they are tomorrow.

Nevertheless, Christmas shouldn't be about loading up the floor underneath the Tree. However, in America, that's exactly what it has become. Again, one of the reasons I stay successful financially is because we live well below our means. So will it be one of those, MY HUSBAND GOT ME THIS AND THAT kind of year? NO! However, you just ask my Wife the day after Christmas who the greatest man on earth is and she'll still tell you it's her Father. I'll always be a close second and I'm very proud of that.

The Barrie Tilghman Press Conference & Lawsuit

Ladies & Gentlemen, about a year and a half ago, Barrie Tilghman called a Press Conference because I wrote her a letter via e-mail and stated I thought "she was not only a waste of my time, she was a waste of good sperm."

I was immediately asked if I regretted making such a statement and would I take it back and I responded, NO! When someone seems to be completely useless, clueless, careless and thoughtless, they're a waste of good sperm, period. Need I say more?

Barrie called in this Press Conference and tied it together with the Blogs, even though the message was a personal e-mail and I didn't have my own personal Blog at that time. This clearly showed her control issues but it sparked a whole new revolution. What it did was, it taught everyone who didn't know who or what the Blogs were about, where to go and what to expect. She called them hateful and nasty and when people arrived they quickly realized once again, Barrie was full of sh!t!

So what does that mean today? Well the same still holds true to my original comment, that certainly hasn't changed. However, over time, Barrie instructed everyone to STOP going to SBYNEWS.COM, yet they're still here? Look, it goes all the way back to the Rachel Polk/Von Siggers days where they knew it was Fire Fighters on The Watch Desk making racial statements against these individuals, yet the Mayor claimed they couldn't prove exactly who it was but yet it didn't stop. Then came Joe Albero. The Mayor firmly instructed every department to stop visiting my Blog, yet the Fire Department NEVER removed my Site from their Computers? Ebay has been removed. The Watch Desk has been removed. Why do you think the HEADS of the SFD would be insubordinate and ignore a demand laid down by the Mayor of the City? I know for a fact they were told to remove my Site and yet they never once even attempted to remove it.

It's because the Mayor encourages such hate from the Fire Fighters, as does the Chief and Deputy Chief. Look, you and I both know there are some VERY fine men and women in the SFD. However, if THEY do NOT step up to the plate and stop the nasty comments and encourage a better dialogue, they are just as much to blame. See, Gordy & Tilghman need to go. Oh, don't think you slide out of there without my mentioning Hoppes as well. They are grooming this man to be the next Fire Chief and you know what Ladies & Gentlemen, he has turned out to be a mirror image of Chief See and that's not good.

Those donation envelopes and mailers you're getting in. Just remember that Barrie Tilghman is behind all of these Fire Fighters calling my Wife and Grandson all sorts of names, YET SHE'S SUING ME! I can't wait to get into Court and ask her under oath, why are the Fire Fighters saying all these nasty things about my Wife and Grandson, you instructed these people to NOT go on that site during the day or their shifts, you demanded they remove it from their computers, yet they didn't do so, YOU KNOW IT and you're suing Albero for the harsh things he's allegedly said about YOU? Pot Calls Kettle Black, eh?

Yeah, I look forward to the Court Date. We're going to have an awful lot of fun with her case, that's for sure. So thank you Fire Fighters, for making my case with her that much easier. Merry Christmas!

Worthy Of A SFD Post

"I got my SFD Begging letter the other day at the post office and immediately threw it away. I was shocked by the amount of those same letters I saw in the 3 trash bins. They were overflowing and the postal customers looked at me like I was crazy when I laughed out loud. What a joke that fire department is and I hope that everyone continues to throw those requests in the trash. Joe if I knew your number I would have called you to go out there and take a picture of these letters in the trash bins. ROTFLMAO"

Well, all I can tell you is the Salisbury Fire Department is not environmentally friendly, killing all those trees just for those letters and envelopes. LOL How much do you want to bet now they'll come back stating they did everything with recycled paper? OR, it was printed on Fire Proof Paper! I'd like a copy of this letter, if anyone has one available?

Church Street Awards

The other night there was an award ceremony for the people who helped out in the clean up of the Church Street Neighborhood. I was personally invited and I even went to far as to advertised the occasion on my Blog.

The event came and went and I did not attend. Some of the other Blogs out there were ragging on me because I did not attend and I'd like to formally respond now. I went there to help out and document the clean up. I did NOT go there to be recognized and or with the hope that I would receive an award.

I heard the Mayor called out my name and quite frankly I'm sorry she had to do so. I know that had to be difficult on her to do so, you know, with a lawsuit and all. However, I thought about it and I came to the conclusion that my original intentions of being there were unconditional and I quickly decided it was more important people participated and I really do not believe, (other than Louise Smith) anyone wanted any recognition for such.

Besides, I got enough of my own attention bringing it up on this Blog. So Mayor, thanks but no thanks, respectfully. I was also bothered that the Mayor refused to stick around and help out during the clean up, then she showed up to give out awards as if she was a part of the grunt work. I just can't work like that but I ask that you keep me on your list for ANY other clean up elsewhere in the City and I would be happy to participate.

Besides, my Wife dedicated 18 years of her life to the animals at the Salisbury Zoo and I certainly wouldn't want to have MORE awards than she has for helping out a couple of times after she spent 18 years not being recognized and ultimately fired. That is, if you get my drift?

The City Of Salisbury Fire Department Asks For Donations In Hebron District

"Hey Joe,

I got a SFD donation request envelope the other day and it ended up in the circular file. I am NOT in Salisburys EMS response area, I am in Hebrons. They can't even get the areas straight. I'm glad I'm in Hebrons area, they come down the street as a group and leave the envelopes. They will even talk to you if you're home and they're nice to the kids. I have nothing against SFD, but come on! Why in the world would you try to solicit donations from a house you're not jurisdictionally able to respond to? These folks that don't know better will donate, think that they are covered for EMS and then when Hebron responds (which they certainly will) you are slapped with a fee because you haven't joined (I still don't get this whole pay in advance EMS thing, but I'm a city girl). Just wanted to give you that tidbit of info. Merry Christmas to you and yours."

Well, according to the ADVERTISING across the River, they have sold the same 50% of their complex before closing, just like the one that now has ONE Unit closed and SOLD?

I said it in the past Ladies & Gentlemen and I'll repeat it over and over again. This Administration will do everything they can to take back the West Side of Salisbury, at any expense. That is where the QUIET growth is going to happen, hence the Police Station and new Fire Station. It makes sense. It's the least expensive land in the City and they're going to drive the Black Community out of the West Side and out of the City Limits. Shanie's even moving, like it or not!

Another SFD Donation Envelope Ends Up In The Trash!

Just received letter from SFD asking for donations. Tore it up.When the 2 chiefs and the Mayor give up control on the donations and return control back to the volunteers then I will donate again. HARDHEAD"

I told you guys, get someone in there to teach about bigotry and discrimination or this will continue until you completely fail. Looks like Barrie is going to have to turn the checkbook back to the Volunteers too! I can't believe they did that to you guys!!!!!!

Check On Your Neighbors

Ladies & Gentlemen,

This is a unique time of year in which I strongly recommend you check on your neighbors, especially the elderly.

The other night a Delmar woman passed away in her home and no one noticed for at least a week. I was there and trust me, it wasn't a pretty sight OR SMELL!

This particular woman doesn't have much Family, one in California and one in Florida, that's it. So no one was really checking up on her and a neighbor finally noticed they hadn't seen her up and about and called the Police.

Now look, it's Sunday, a fairly big day for Blogging and Billy Duvall is nowhere to be found. Can one of you call his sorry ass and see if Old Frenchie is OK? I need my Duva Fix/Laugh in the morning and I keep looking HERE and THERE for him and I just can't find him.

Someone just recently saw the guy in Giant, so I know so far he's alive. Nevertheless, drop him a call and make sure the guy is still with us.

River Place Condo Sales Are Up! LOL

That's right Ladies & Gentlemen, there has been a sale. ONE SALE for ONE UNIT. Oh, and it gets even better too. While the current owner of this property is in the middle of a divorce with his Wife, she allegedly demanded that she get one of the units in the divorce settlement deal and he's gone ahead and assigned one of the units to her.

So the very first sale is complete but no money transferred hands, just title. LOL Looks like the River Front Condos are a complete FLOP and one woman has the entire place to herself. If the ex husband is smart he sold her on the fact that the Condo was worth $400,000.00 to $500,000.00. There's a SUCKER born every day!

Old Mall Owners Counter Sue Hovmanian

Things are taking an interesting twist with the Old Mall. It looks like Hovmanian might have some trouble on their hands in this deal.

It turns out the contract was revised three times and signed each time by Hovmanian, all the way up to ONE DAY before Hovmanian filed their lawsuit. UNBELIEVABLE! The third time they signed was in May of 2007!

The Old Mall Owners have filed a Counter Claim for $557,000.00 and for what it's worth Ladies & Gentlemen, that's just ridiculous. The ONLY people that are going to make out here are the lawyers and the Old Mall Owners are being represented by an Attorney.

As there are always three sides to every story, in this round I give it to the Old Mall Owners as Hovmanian is dealing with a multitude of lawsuits from property owners because Hovmanian has been backing out of so many deals it isn't funny. To only ask for a half a mil, something just doesn't sound right to me? The Old Mall Owners are allegedly losing millions upon millions of dollars with their key developer backing out. I just smell something fishy here, that's all.

Sheriffs Deputy Injured In School Fight

Deputy Mike Bowers was injured trying to break up a fight at one of the local High Schools last week. Two young men were going at it hard and heavy when Mike stepped in to break things up and these guys just weren't quitting.

Turns out Mike got clobbered right in the eye and believe it or not was hit so hard it broke a facial bone. While handcuffing one of the suspects, the other one was kicking him in the back still trying to fight.

Both young men were arrested and Deputy Mike Bowers will be off for a brief period.
