Special People Bring A Special Christmas For Even More Special People

Today, (Christmas Eve) was yet another life altering day, one in which I will never forget for as long as I live.

The WCSO and a very special Lady, Jackie Ramsey, (of Pittsville) came to Booth Street to help 15 Families with more than 40 children enjoy a Christmas they'll never forget. Jackie works with the Salvation Army and spends countless hours all year long collecting donations that fill their home throughout the year. Her Husband even said, we need a bigger house for all these gifts each year.

The Special Operation Unit received contributions from sworn and civilian personnel in the WCSO, the W.C. FOP Lodge #111, Baptist Tot Ministry, Circuit City, WalMart & K-Mart made this project a very successful event and deserve a very special Thank You! More importantly, Mike & Jackie Ramsey who have been doing this for years deserve to be recognized for all that they do.

On a personal note, I want to thank the WCSO for their invitation to this special event. WBOC, WMDT & The Daily Times was there and I have to truly tell you, I think we enjoyed this event more than anyone else there. Looking through the lens of a camera, there simply wasn't a bad shot to be had. I wish Blogger gave me more room to share more photos because this was just too cool.

Merry Christmas Everyone! Don't Ever Forget Where You Came From.

Wow! This is wonderful. Most kids today have such a negative image about the police. It's nice for them to see the police in a positive light.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Merry Christmas to all of our emergency response people working every day of the year, sacrificing time with family for the welfare and safety of others.

Merry Christmas to all of our Military serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

God Bless us One And All........Tim

God Bless the carriers of the Daily Crime who work for pennies, no benefits and no days off unless they pay someone to take their route for them.

God Bless the US mail carriers, who by the way just came knocking on my door with a package that came in late yesterday. They have to deliver all the packages today, Christmas Day, that came in late yesterday afternoon. Even if they are being paid to do so, who needs it on Christmas Day?

Not to try to take anything away from wicomico county, but Salisbury Police contributed, collected, wrapped, and delivered truck fulls of toys to needy families throughout the city of salisbury, but I didn't see anything about them in here. Were all supposed to be on the same team, but it just seems like we let our internal "politics" build up walls between us.

I wish I could have had an invitation to the delivery of such with the SPD. I never knew about it. It's the right kind of Press the SPD deserves.

I fully agree with you there. With all the bad events going on, both agencies can use all the good press we can get.

SP sometimes giving means a little more when given with anonymity. When people give for publicity is for the wrong reasons.
Either way it is nice to see a positive interaction between the children of the community and those who protect them.

Great post Joe. Every now and then you surprise me!

The whole thing is a great idea, press there or not. SP, you are right and we in the other departments love to work with you guys/gals. Hopefully it'll happen more often. The SPD have a bunch of great guys and I love to work with them in any circumstances! This whole season is about giving and whether the press is there or not, it's a great idea!
