A 60-year-old Ohio man who dismissed the state’s coronavirus lockdown as a ‘political ploy’ and claimed the governor didn’t have the authority to close businesses because of the pandemic has died of COVID-19.
John W. McDaniel tested positive for the coronavirus in late March and died at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus last Wednesday.
On Facebook, he had dismissed the killer virus as a 'political ploy' that he said officials were using to exert control over the public.

Kind of reminds me of Rand Paul. Literally in the gym the morning he got his positive results and didn't self quarantine.
There were many on the shore (and commenting on this blog) that were saying the same thing. What say they now? Now that the virus is here, and killing us.

He died a free man, something I value. R.I.P. sir, but life has risks, Freedom has risks, and I want Freedom over chains and jail in my own home. God bless you, sir.
It's not chains and jail - and it's certainly NOT permanent. The virus doesn't move - people do. The only way to get the virus under control is to limit exposure. Why is that so difficult to understand without getting all worked up and claiming that you're losing your rights? You're not LOSING anything. It's no different than if there was a chemical spill and you were ordered to stay inside for a few days. Only difference is the amount of time, but both are temporary and for the good of all. Quit whining.

45,000 dead in one month and that's WITH staying home and social distancing.
Your right to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose. You aren't only putting your life at risk... you are also putting other lives at risk... you are putting their freedom and liberty at risk. This isn't forever, this will end.... but we have to work together to help reduce the death toll.
This is about keeping the infection rate down as to not overwhelm our health care system. The brave folks on the front lines are putting their lives at risk helping all of us. Are YOU volunteering to work or help out there? If not, why don't you settle down with all this false puffery and bravado, unless you can put your money where your mouth is and go to these front lines.
