President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that he had ordered the destruction of Iranian gunboats harassing American ships.
“I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea,” Trump wrote on Twitter.
The president reacted to ongoing reports of Iranian gunboats who continue harassing American ships in the Persian Gulf.
Last Wednesday, 11 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps gunboats repeatedly harassed six U.S. Navy warships.

Spent a lot of time in that Mid-East area.The only thing these people respect is strength. Talking, as the United State does a lot of, is a sign of weakness. They respect getting their butts kicked by a larger oppressor, that's what they call us the "Oppressors", because everyone knows that the US wants to take over Iran and steal all their riches. Right.
Eleven boats would be taken out very quickly if the US really wanted to. And they should take out all eleven of their boats except if the US DOD gets a little backbone and decide to use one of their laser weapons on them. Then you take out ten boats and let the eleventh boat report back that they don't know what happened that their boats just started blowing up around them. The US really doesn't want to use this type of weapon in one of these small engagements. They want these weapon's capabilities kept under wraps until the real problems with China begins. So until the US DOD gets a little push, perhaps having ten of these boats loaded with explosives and coming in under the defenses of the ships and blowing them up, we will continue to be pushed around and humiliated.
Iran has missiles from Russia that can take out our ships if this escalates. Then our Airforce will have to take out all launching sites (bases), and a few other things, if you know what I mean.
