Pentagon issues blunt warning to Iran: 'We will come and we will come large'

The Pentagon’s top brass on Wednesday gave a strong endorsement to President Trump’s tweet ordering the Navy to “shoot down and destroy” Iranian boats harassing U.S. vessels in the Persian Gulf.

Air Force Gen. John Hyten, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told a Pentagon briefing Wednesday he appreciated Mr. Trump’s message and said the president’s intention was to emphasize that any warship has the inherent right of self-defense.

“I like that the president warned an adversary. That’s what he’s doing: He’s providing a warning,” Gen.Hyten said.

Northwest Woodsman: I survived thirty months in country 8:55 and have never seen them referred to as your “Viet Namese”. That is a totally new one for me. I do, however, agree with you about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. That crooked, corrupt Lynden Johnson initiated that fiasco to justify an attack on North Vietnam. I was actually at an intelligence facility in Okinawa the day the retaliatory strikes took place and watched as we monitored communications from North Vietnamese radar sites while they tracked the inbound strike aircraft. Those were the days when I believed the BS propaganda spewed by US government. I have since changed my attitude toward trusting anything coming from the federal government.

The Gulf of Tonkin ‘incident’ was just as fake an excuse fo was as was Bush’s search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
Americans paid dearly in blood and treasure for these two wars. The suffering is incalculable and still exists.
