Watching a parade doesn’t make any money for the town. It’s the quality bar time after the parade where the money is made.
The danger of this virus is that it is highly contagious. While contracting COVID-19 probably won’t be much worse than a cold for young, healthy people, the danger to older people and people with underlying health problems is significant. The reason reasonable people will cancel travel and avoid crowds is to be personally accountable for not endangering others for the sake of enjoying our own selfish agendas. Is a parade or a drunken night at a bar worth contaminating someone’s grandparent, someone with cancer, etc and having a family lose their loved one. This is our chance to respond well, save lives, and shut this down like caring, responsible adults should.

Yeah like the average American knows anything about personal responsibility. Americans only care about themselves. Especially this new generation nothing is ever their fault.

Any places that crowds gather are hotspots for contamination. Not closing down Bars is a big mistake, one cough or sneeze and thousands of germs are airborne and all over the closed in place. This is the reason the CDC has recommended closing schools, and all of the other crowed places.
Just proves that it is really all about the money and not about safety of the public, it is a "Looks Good, but does nothing" act.
