Procter & Gamble CEO: 'There is an issue with toxic masculinity'

The CEO of Procter & Gamble, the parent company of Gillette, addressed the razor maker’s controversial “The Best Men Can Be” ad Wednesday, saying it “started a conversation” among men for finding ways to combat “toxic masculinity” and “sexist behavior.”

“That started a conversation. What we want to do is we want to connect with consumers, and there are some things that we do need to talk about,” David Taylor told Sara Eisen on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”

“There is an issue with toxic masculinity,” the CEO continued. “And what we wanted to do was show that there are some things, whether it’s bullying or sexist behavior, that we can be better. And to me, men are stepping up. And we showed in the commercial very clear examples of that happening.”

Screw them. I already called them and told them I would never buy Gillette products again...As a woman, I found their commercial offensive-as a mother of 2 boys, I found it disturbing that they would listen to some idiot with a man bun and people wearing vagina hats telling them what a great commercial they have...they apparently don't want to have their product be "the best a man can get" because they don't want men to BE MEN.

Yeah..... like anyone is listening regarding these nuts... men are men, women are women.... the end... the rest can just get over themselves

No problem..ill boycott P&G products in response to their toxic stupidity.

Thanks for clearing that up, Mr. CEO. I thought that perhaps the Gillette marketing plan had somehow gone awry from the P&G business plan. Your words endorsing the Gillette crapola have doubled my resolve not to purchase anything P&G markets. P&G generally makes good products that are premium priced. In almost all instances similar items can be purchased from a competitor or store brand. Disparaging your customers doesn't look like a winning formula. Hope the shareholders and directors are electing your successor in the very near future.
