A Viewer Writes: Do As I Say Not As I do.

Publishers Notes: I have stated this over the years, several times. Law Enforcement is exempt from texting and driving. They state that they are professionally trained to multi task while driving.

Yes, officers are trained to multitask, but texting while actually driving isn't one of the combinations for which they are trained.

If the writer wants to have better effect, show a full photo. You can see a car parked in a parking lot. How can we know this photo isn't in a parking lot and the officer is sitting stationary in a lot? Or show a video. This "writer" lacks enough detail to have this post indicate any violations or that the vehicle was even in motion.

Don't worry, you won't get a ticket. I see many people talking and texting everyday, and have yet to hear of anyone being ticketed for it. More of a scare tactic.

He’s not driving, he’s stopped. No problem, no issues!

Looks like it's in park. No indication it's in motion. It could be in a lane, or it could be parked on a curb. I'm not saying it is or isn't, but that's what I can or can't see in the out of focus picture.

If the car is not in motion, there is no violation

Be a better driver. Then you can text and drive too. It's not hard!

Someone with nothing better to do than go around throwing stones at glass houses. Officers are exempt from that law. Period. It's been established. Yet some people who are butt hurt continue to whine about it. But...wait, it appears as if he's in the strip center parking lot. So, he's NOT driving at all. Moron.

I wish something this petty was one of my problems.

Friend of mine got caught talking on her cell phone over on Dover street and did get a ticket. City police officer.
With that said, driving and eating is more dangerous than driving and talking on a cell phone.

I was trained to multi task while driving too. I can eat a Whopper, put on eye makeup, text, smack the kids in the back seat, and flirt with the guy next to me, all while I am safely driving.

He could be at a stop light? How is the law applied at a stop light?

And, yes we do need to hold the police accountable. They are not above the law.

Actually they are exempt from this law.. so the officer is breaking no law.. look it up #internetlawyers
