'We Will Not Give In To Fear': A Day After Shooting, Congress Plays Ball

The traditional Congressional Baseball Game was played Thursday night at Washington's Nationals Park. A gunman opened fire at the GOP practice Wednesday morning in Alexandria, Va.

The sun danced and dipped through a bright blue sky over Nationals Park Thursday night, leaving a warm still evening in its wake.

"What a beautiful day for baseball," blared a voice over the loudspeakers, after Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days" faded out, and John Fogerty's "Centerfield" finished, too.

Even so, a poignant and immovable shadow cast itself over Thursday's annual congressional baseball game.

Wake up people , we cannot allow this to happen without any revenge . The democrats are playing this down and being untruthful like Pelosi. In 2 weeks it will be forgotten and back to business as usual tearing down Trump and the conservative party. How much more do you think we can take?

Now more than ever an opportunity presents itself for Congress and the Administration to set aside their nasty differences/societal mud slinging and get this country back on track, moving forward with positive initiatives. Any positive would get us moving forward.

Although its a cloudy/foggy morning here in OC - IT IS TGIF!!!!!!

Still a good day for fishing/drinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical.

While this event could be seen as a moment of strength for Americans, some choose to use this moment to further divide us.

Our representatives stood up to show that as Americans, we will not allow ourselves to be intimidated or scared, and to show that we can come together, even if its something as simple, yet as American as a game of baseball.

This really should be a moment where we realize that above all else we are Americans and we can work together.

I ask that for once you set aside the rhetoric, and try to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Stop working against each other and work with each other. We all have the same goals... a better life for ourselves and families and a better America. Our paths there might be different, but we are Americans, and we should work with each other, not demean, demonize, and degrade each others. Debate the ideas... and remember we are the same citizens and patriots.
