Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 9-10-16

On 09/05/2016 at approximately 6:47 PM, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on patrol in the area of Dighton Avenue and Cypress Road, Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland. The Deputy recognized a male walking in the area as Glenn Hamilton Harmon 52, of Snow Hill, Md. The Deputy knew Mr. Harmon had two active Circuit Court warrants for failing to appear in court. The Deputy was also aware that Mr. Harmon allegedly had led the Snow Hill Police Department and Worcester County Sheriff`s Office on pursuits to avoid capture.

Mr. Harmon saw the Deputy and fled the area on foot despite the Deputy's repeated orders to stop. Mr. Harmon caught and was placed under arrest. Mr. Harmon was transported to the Worcester County Detention Center and held on no bond for both of his warrants. An additional criminal summons was issued charging Mr. Harmon with obstruction of justice, fail to obey a lawful order, and resisting arrest.

On 09/04/2016 at approximately 7:55 pm, a Worcester County Sheriff's Office Deputy responded to a residence on Hayes Landing Road, Berlin, Maryland in an attempt to locate a wanted subject. The Deputy had knowledge that an individual identified as Warner Bryant Rivers 26, of Berlin, Md. was living at the residence and had an active District Court warrant.

Upon arrival, the Deputy was met by several individuals at the residence. The Deputy was advised numerous times that Mr. Rivers was not at the house. The Deputy continued his investigation and ultimately made contact with Mr. Rivers shortly after who was hiding in a bedroom in the residence. Mr. Rivers was placed under arrest. A search of Mr. Rivers, suspected heroin and cocaine were found on him. Mr. Rivers was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance-not marijuana.

Rivers was later held at the Worcester County Detention Center on $3,000 bond for the warrant and an additional $5,000 bond for the additional charges.
