EpiPen CEO Grilled on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON (WJZ)– EpiPen manufacturer Mylan’s CEO was on the hot seat Wednesday in Capitol Hill due to nationwide outcry over skyrocketing EpiPen prices.

Congress laid into Heather Bresch for jacking up prices on a vital medication.

“You raised the price, what did you think was going to happen?” said Jason Chaffetz, chairman of the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Bresch tried to explain why EpiPen prices have climbed more than 500 percent in just the last 9 years as top execs got huge raises.

“You have five executives in five years that earned nearly $300 million in compensation,” said Chaffetz.

This kind of greed is why we have social problems. Execs getting these big bonuses is just wrong.

That's Democratic Senator Joe Manchin's daughter.

She should be fired and the company put out of business, some other organization could take over and actually think of the patients and not their own wealth.

What's wrong with making a profit? I think it's horrendous that the government gets into this and tries to tell companies how much they can make. Complete BS

Dad is Democrat senator from WV who replaced Robert Byrd, the ex KKK member. Mother was appointed to state school board when dad was WV governor and lobbied states across country to stock Epi pens in school nurse offices.

Nothing to see here, peasants. Just Democrats in action.

Anon 10:23 - Are you serious????? Making a profit and gouging are two different things. $300 million a year for pharm exec's doesn't sound slightly excessive to you? You are part of the problem. Hope this doesn't doesn't effect someone you care about so that you learn a lesson the hard way.
