Two days after the end of the eighth annual “Stop Hatin’” week at Salisbury University, on April 10, a racially charged drawing was found on a whiteboard in Blackwell Library.
Although SU’s administration has not come forward with new information, a faculty member told The Flyer two students were a part of the drawing.
“I can confirm two students have been identified,” English Associate Professor James King said, “and are both African American.”
King declined to give more information.
The SU Police Department is currently investigating the incident as a hate crime. However, they have not named any suspects. This could prove difficult, though, as there are no cameras in the study room in which the whiteboard was located.

I told an SU faculty member last weekend we would discover that "Black" students did this. She refused to believe that was a possibility. Sad that so many people live in the state of delusion.
Wonder what they will do to the two black people who tried to incite a riot . I'm sure as you know if they were white they would be removed from the school. Having said that , when will this crap end , not just the schools but everywhere. People such as me are very tired of it . I'm afraid I may hurt someone over my rage. Life is very short and my tolerance has become very thin. I actually wish these people of color would take the easy way out , suicide would be great .
They don't want to earn a living anyway. The Mexicans and Hispanics are the favorite workers because of their energy and willingness to learn and work. I don't hate all blacks , but it sure makes you want too. If anyone hurts any of my children or grandchildren , look at the picture again , it will be real life.
No surprise at all that black "students" were responsible.
This would be a game changer if it can be proven that AA students/persons did this...my bet is, it gets swept away
There ADULTS I want ARRESTS now they are covering this up because there black.
Let's not let this just get swept away! Stand up for all Americans and end this BS!
Not even worthy of posting or investigating. Go back to class and avoid that government based "Stop Hatin" mess. Whatever is in the heart will be, rather it be this junk or "Black History Month" I don't need any "White History Month". Darn there is my white privilege kicking in. Most treat others the way they are treated. You be nice, I will do the same. You act stupid, back at you.
The study rooms are reserved under people's names. You have to check in at the front desk because they can be reserved by students, professors and department use. So to say they don't know who is responsible is ridiculous. The real question is the prez going to have the courage to do what should be done - expulsion from the school. Doubt we'll ever hear because she's probably not going to do a thing about two black students trying to 'frame' white students for these atrocious actions, which makes Dr. Dudley-Eshbach guilty as well through complicity and acceptance.
Arrests please.
Maybe we should hold protest until the guilty are punished. Isn't that they way we are suppose to act! Oh wait, no! We are suppose to act likes a$$e$ until they ruin an innocent person's life. Sorry got that mixed up - silly me.
Time to protest outside SU for arrests.
call Fox news this is a great story.
did u even read the article ? obviously not
Hate crime?!!! Damn, I never realized how fragile the university community has become.
This is not going away SU. These students tried to ruin the name of a university. Do the right thing JDE.

When this first came out they said they had video of the area also. Still nothing from SU about this.
Of course the astute readers of Sby News nailed this and had the courage to say who did it when it first came out.
Of course the school will have some excuse for the students' action.
One of the major difficulties going on in the black communities is it's constantly pounded into them since birth that they are victims.
When it becomes apparent that they are not victims and are treated no differently than anyone else they then have to create ways for it to appear as though they are victims and this is what we have.
They do things like this.
They burn and write racial things on black churches and other buildings.
They mouth off at LE so they can cry victim when they are arrested.
Now we are seeing it in the 'gay' community.
Just red-blooded Americans practicing their "race baiting" .
Obama will probably invite them to the white house.
will those that shared/tweeted/ect retract their statements once the culprits are arrested?
will they condemn them as fast as they would if they were white?
The black culprits are adults and their identity should not be protected. It's time to demand accountability.
The public should know more about these students and their punishment in order to ensure they receive the same treatment as white students would.
Fox news please.
Since when is SU an HBCU? Cover up to protect the black kids. Lol
just notified FOXNEWS tip hotline about this story I also told them they can find it here on SBYNEWS.
Wonder if the DT will retract/rewrite/disappear their editorial of 4/21 titled "Racial graffiti affirms black students' unease"????
FTA:
"When black students made public their concerns about racial tensions on Salisbury University’s campus, the community was taken by surprise. The discovery of racist words and images on a library whiteboard confirm what the students said.
We now know there was indeed substance to the students’ concerns."
BTW, when did writing something on an erasable medium become a "crime"????
call them.
The most we will hear from SU is that there may be a closed disciplinary hearings by the university administration and student court. No details, no names, other than maybe a bland statement that the students responsible were disciplined and a reiteration of SU's administrative policies.
I am an SU Alumni and have decided that until the President of SU retracts her original message I plan to no longer contribute funds to the University. Whatever the truth is, it now requires a statement or a retraction because of the way in which it was handled from the very beginning. You cannot have it both ways, you cannot bring it to the attention of the media and make statements based on assumptions and then not provide a follow-up when you know the original assumptions to be false. If the plan is to sweep this under the rug, then Salisbury University needs new leadership. That also should be extended to the Daily Times...a follow up article is required because of the attention "you" decided to give this event before you knew or considered the possible outcome. It should not be hidden in small print and buried somewhere in the paper...it should be given the same level of page significance as the original article. Well, if you are really a legitimate newspaper it should.
The Daily Times doesn't have the stones or the staff to really address this issue.
BS they need to be arrested and prosecuted because if it was a pair of white boys it would be all over CNN, Sharpton riots.
This is always the case, We need legislation passed protecting people against hate slander.
9:54 AM -- You're not an alumni. You're either an alumnus or an alumna.
Suggested punishment: Both stand for a couple of days in Red Square wearing sandwich boards that each have a large photo of the offensive drawing and the words "I did this!" in big block letters.
Shaming works. Coddling doesn't.
954 as an alumni as well, I fully support your declaration and will also follow suit. The school doesn't need my financial support when they allow this kind of thing to go on unfettered. I stand with you on all accounts.
This should be on National news. Where is Al Sharpton. Pity me Pity me.
Thanks 10:30....yes in the context of the sentence I should have used one of the other two. At the same time when I wear my logo wear from Salisbury University. I am technically the only one wearing it but yet my hat says "Salisbury University Alumni". Kudos to you for pointing that out "congrats", pat yourself on the back for being right once today.
I stopped contributing when the foundation started paying for overpriced land in Salisbury. I do not blame the landowners at all. But the school is another story.
Go back to class? Somewhere else maybe...after they take the full consequences of this hate crime they committed.
So am I. We need to send letters to the school as well as the media advising them this will cost them in alumni donations.
And so where does 'alumni', 'alumnus' or 'alumna' get us in all of this? Just curious
11:07 AM - If you graduate from college you should at least know which word it is that describes you. It's not really relevant to this discussion, but it does point out that every time you see the word "alumni", it's probably being misused by the very person it's meant to describe.
To those SU students who were stupid enough to engage in this crude, race-baiting foolishness, think hard about what your future will be if you continue to have a "poor me" mindset. If this is what you describe as "your culture", leave it behind and try for something better.
11:07 I am not sure I understand your question. I graduated from Salisbury University and have lived in the surrounding area my whole life. Salisbury provides jobs to this area, as well as providing local students an affordable opportunity for higher education in the community in which they live. If in fact "the drawing" was made by a person of "color" and got the attention from the university and the media as a "racist issue" and they now know facts that change that scenario they should come forward and make a statement to the contrary. Why should alumni, alumnus or alumna take a stand? Because it impacts the image of the University and the community. If there are racial issues they should receive attention, but if there was no issue, that also should get the same level of attention as was originally vocalized and printed in the media. Why hold back donations? Because its a form of protest of the way in which the event was handled by the university and local media. Because we can. Because we can hold people accountable and responsible for handling sensitive matters in a reasonable way. Not sure if that is what you were looking for or not but that's my two cents.
I'm a contributing alumnus, and have been for over forty years. I'll continue to contribute, but my confidence in the system is flagging.
Arrests X 2 please
HEY SU your NOT getting away with this one ,you bunch of Racists,
Arrests for what? What is the charge? Racist drawing?
I'm shocked no one is protesting it being called a "whiteboard"
Hate crime? Somebody needs to read the definition of crime! No crime has been committed. While in bad taste ,all that's happened is somebody expressed themselves. Last I knew that's a right.
As a man of non color, I am deeply offended by the term "whiteboard".
This slur must be banished from our society.
I am now going to retreat to my safe space where I can attempt to get over the racial oppression that the educational system of America has foisted upon myself and other non color Americans
Hey 1246 - white people get fired and jailed for the stuff on that whiteboard
10:19
This is always the case, We need legislation passed protecting people against hate slander.
We have legislation now, that being part of the problem. We need to take care of our own business and less government control.
10:37
I'm thinking you can't shame this type or they wouldn't be acting like this to start with. If it makes the news, watch them and note if they appear embarrassed.
BS statement if a white person did this you know damn well they would be Arrested for inciting a riot, HYPOCRITE.
This needs to be top post.
Obviously not a college graduate.
Students have always done stupid things, it should have been ignored. The left cannot help but be injured by the slightest occurrence, poor things.
What do you expect? They're SU "gradumates".
Free Speech? Writing on a black board?
Very true. Back when I was in school the chalk boards were called blackboards which is now a no no.
I'm ok with rules....but how about the same set of rules for us all?
HMM
First thought was it looks like a girls drawing
not a boys
Boys well young males don't make curves like that, nor tear drops,
with that being said
did they find the persons or person who did it
The media keeps racism alive, they need it to keep Democrats in power.
You racist! It's a whiteboard! (sarcasm)
Yea, that's what we need - more laws. I have a better idea. Get rid of 90% of the ones we already have.
1136 25k a year is affordable? Your the problem.
Joe why ain't you calling for these 2s arrests?
Stop sugar coating this issue RACISM in this country both white and black is alive and well!!!
People responsible for this should be expelled and prosecuted. Where's the State's Attorney office? This is inciting violence.
I would feel "unsafe" with a bunch of "stop the hatin'" thugs churning up hatred on campus. If they acknowledged it goes both ways, and called out the racist bullying within their ranks, even the most egregious incidents, that's one thing.
No. Their message is "we are going to demand special rights and shove our crude rude subculture where it doesn't belong and threaten, extort and physically intimidate others who don't agree with us" and we'll protest your right to disapprove of our behavior by accusing you of "hatred" of us.
WTF do they think, I'm going to stop being disgusted by, loathing and "hating" the viciousness of their rhetoric and hypocrisy?
I am part of what problem?? I don't set the cost of tuition, I don't work there but I did graduate from SU..Yes it is 25k but for some kids that cannot afford the 25k they can cut the cost of that by living at home and not paying room and board and offsetting the cost by working a part time job...and if they are students with good grades maybe they can get some local scholarships...and if they still need financial assistance they can apply for that as well...yes it is a great opportunity to have this school on the shore...schools similar to Salisbury off the shore with good academics and athletics programs are mainly private schools that cost $45k. So SU provides an opportunity for kids in this area to get a college degree locally and I think that is a good thing.
Don`t matter their color! Charge to the fullest extent of the law! And throw them out! Anyone who fans the flames of racial hate should be came down on HARD! NO EXCUSES!
Dudley knows who did this. She has no integrity. She should resign. Allowing White students to be bullied because she is a liberal idiot. Maybe buy her house in another state one level though she cant handle steps lol. Chomp Chomp Ole Girl
