Many Marylanders Support Hard Options For Overhauling The USPS

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Some hard options for overhauling the U.S. Postal Service apparently have the support of most Americans.

Pat Warren has the results of a recent survey many hope will help steer Congress in the right direction.

The USPS is reporting a $5.1 billion net loss for 2015. It’s been an ongoing problem. Now a new survey is asking Americans how they think it should be dealt with.

Marylanders don’t want to see their local post offices close.

“I think it’s horrible because I depend on this every day,” one woman said.

But what could you do without?

Why should they not rob their retirement fund to save jobs? The Federal government robbing SSI to fund pork spending and the lazy ones who don't deserve help along with illegal immigrants. Md is robbing State employees retirement fund for the same reasons the Feds ae robbing SSI. So why are they any different?

It's the taxpayers that are not any different.

"USPS continues to press for relief from retirement pre-funding, which Congress put in place so if the Postal Service did go bust, taxpayers wouldn’t have to foot that bill."

If their retirement isn't funded, how do they expect to get a check? People don't want to bail out Social Security, why bail out the USPS?

How about gold clad pensions for the loafers that work for the USPS

Another failed government enterprise shut it down.

I could do without the post office. I pay all bills online, banking too. Entire real estate deals can be done with online signature programs without the need for paper documents until the day of settlement. The only thing I get from the post office is junk mail. If I need to send something to another person or place, I use Fedex. Non-union and it gets there every time.

It is an outdated business model that is no longer viable.
