We are all familiar with Thanksgiving. Most of us are also familiar with Black Friday. Then there is Small Business Saturday and then still, Cyber Monday. What to do on Tuesday you ask? How about giving. Because now, in its' fourth year, is GivingTuesday. Begun as a social media campaign to drive charitable donations and gifting to non-profits and charitable organizations, #GivingTuesday has grown into a global effort of showcasing the impact of participating in and giving toward an organization you believe in.
This year, GivingTuesday will occur on December 1st. The Del-Mar-Va Council, BSA has established a special "Campership Fund" to assure No Scout's Left Inside due to any financial barriers in attending Summer Camp. This past summer the Del-Mar-Va Council awarded over $30,000 to 234 Hard Working Scouts so their outdoor adventure dreams could come true.
