Fox News & Megyn Kelly Get Blasted By Conservatives After A Horrible Debate Performance

I like Fox News and generally have little other than good things to say about them, but they did a terrible job in the first debate.

Fox made it perfectly clear that they hate Donald Trump by hitting him with vicious below the belt question after question, but that wasn’t all there was to it. Fox also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the candidates to fight each other instead of the Democrats. Eventually, they succeeded in getting Rand Paul and Chris Christie to scream at each other. Undoubtedly Fox will gleefully replay their spat all day tomorrow. Is that good for Fox’s ratings? Maybe. Is it good for the Republican Party? No way. Is it good for the conservative movement? Absolutely not.

I’ve never seen as much venom aimed at Fox News and Megyn Kelly on social media as I did last night and honestly, they deserved every bit of it and then some. Here is a small, but representative sample of the comments from conservatives aboutFox that appeared on social media last night.

FOX news back stabbed trump.

Trump faced real journalists for the first time and looked like a chump. Sure, the tea party wingnuts are irate, but we don't need them or him.

I'm a staunch conservative. I dId not view the debate in the same fashion. It was not great but by no means as bad as suggested in the article. I thought Chris Wallace had the worst attack on Trump by far. I don't think there were any seruois provocations for fighting within the group.

WRONG.

It was a great debate, best one I've heard in years. Hope it will get the "dump the Trump" movement going ASAP.

They had their orders.

The three musketeers definitely did. Kelly most of all was a total embarrassment. Why would you dig 30 years back to try to embarrass someone? ? Because they wanted bush to win. For what they did if bush gets the nomination I'm staying home. How do you like that fox??

Bush is not, by far, the best candidate, that's for sure. Know for sure I would not watch another debate sponsored by Fox News. First question, right from the get go, was directed at Trump and no one else and they knew it. Really felt bad for Ben Carson, they acted like he wasn't even there and he's a very intelligent person. Did love his comeback when they finally did ask him a question. They certainly were not fair and balanced last night. They need to be fair about the questions, involve everyone and let the tv viewing audience decide who won the debate instead of trying to make up our minds for us. Fox news was just very disgusting last nite.

9:58-I totally agree.

Mark my words, I believe Fox wanted to bring everything negative on Trump now, way early in the campaign and get it out of the way.
Fox has loved him since jumping in the race, then appear to be the opposite in the debate. The one downside is his comment regarding Megyn Kelly, which Fox did not anticipate. Time will tell?

It was so obvious Trump was set up, and still survived, good job Donald!

Trump takes no crap!

These are a few of my favorite things:

Bankruptcy to screw your creditors and avoid paying debts.
Single payer health care
Gun control
Government seizure of property to help developers (the Kelo case)
Higher taxes
Pro choice
Less free trade

So don't call me a conservative, because I'm not one of them dummies. and I'm smarter than them.

The Donald.

PS -- I have supported Hillary and Nancy Pelosi, and many other Democrats.

Lopsided debate. Less talk from moderators and more from candidates needed.
Hope the next one does not include Kelly and Chris.

No this isn't Obama. This is far worse. This is a mainstream republican who is threatened by the existence of a republican candidate who cannot be controlled by the party. Threatened by a candidate who DARES to have an idea that varies from the staunch republican platform - and won't lie about it. I am a conservative. I am a republican. I AM sick and tired of watching my party ignore the wishes of the constituents in order to further a disconnected party agenda. I am sick and tired of watching repubs fight dems when their goals are the same - self satisfaction and greed on the backs of the American people.
Donald Trump represents a growing number of people who want to see America come first. This same growing number of people believe he can make it happen and this makes the RNC as nervous as hell. It has become accustomed to having its candidates lie to the people to forward their own agenda and Trump isn't going for it. This nation was founded on ideals that caused the government to be run by the people - not the other way around.

All these people upset about Trump being an asked some difficult questions. He should have put his big boy pants on. He "is" and has always been a "bully". Now he is whining because a woman put him on the spot and asked him to pony up answers. Cry me a river. He is running or the highest office in the land! There is no inappropriate question on his character, whether he really is a republican, who he gave political contributions, whether he will accept the GOP nominee or whether he will go his own way. Any other day of the week he is touted as a tough guy who can handle anybody anytime. Well he showed himself as a complete idiot and a sissy for complaining about having to answer tough questions. Next time maybe he will spend some of that money on advice on how to conduct yourself at center stage. I am a conservative and I am frustrated with the last 6 plus years but this guy is not the answer. If you think that executive pen has been used too much in the past what do you think he will do. I believe in the constitution and our form of government that includes a body of government that votes and negotiates and passes well thought out legislation. We have certainly not had that for the past six years but Trump will just get his pen out and do the same thing.

C'mon people. You think Fox was tough? Wait till they face CNN, George Stephanopolous and the rest of the liberal media in the next few months. You don't think those questions would be coming out then? This was good to get those questions out now. Don't you want your next President to be tough enough to handle a little adversity?

YES....let us focus on the Kelly story and no realize that Trump is the ace in the hole for the democratic party. FOOLS!!!!

I am very disappointed with Wallace and Kelly as moderators. I think Kelly over-reached and it was clear from the beginning this was a most unfair debate and the questions were unbalanced.

I hope future debates don't include those two. They made jack-asses out of themselves, especially Kelly.

As they should have.
