An American student has just spent thirty days on a diet of bugs. Camren Brantley-Rios says traditional meat like pork and beef are unsustainable and he wanted to see whether he could stomach a month of meals which included insects as his main source of protein instead.
Speaking to 5 live Breakfast, Camren said he wanted to "tweak" his diet because he considers eating bugs to be "so healthy" and a "great way to be sustainable without having to do much".
His favourite bug "surprisingly" is cockroach because they have a "very complex flavour". Camren described them as tasting "kinda floral, herby and gamey".
