COP POINTS GUN AT 14-YO BOY PLAYING ON BALCONY, ‘ACCIDENTALLY’ PULLS TRIGGER, SHOOTS HIM

“Due to the weather and lighting conditions, it is not likely that the officer was able to determine how old the person was..."

A Baltimore County police officer shot a 14-year-old boy Monday night while moonlighting as an apartment complex security guard.

Police said two security guards were working off-duty at the Woodridge apartment complex who were investigating reports of people inside apartments that were under construction.

The officer who shot the teen told police that he saw someone come out on a balcony. He said he was pointing his weapon at the balcony, and it simply went off.

The officer “was pointing the weapon in the direction of the balcony” when “his weapon discharged accidentally,” the department said in a statement.

Weapons don't discharge accidentally.
It takes several POUNDS of force to pull the trigger.

Clearly this mercenary is a complete idiot and a liar.
Typical policeman.

Prison (not jail) is what you or I would be facing.
Reckless discharge, endangerment, attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon. Pick a few.
Extra donuts and high fives for the cop.
I really liked the "due to the weather and lighting conditions...."
In other words, the cop couldn't actually SEE who he was firing at, but shot anyway (I'm calling BS on a cop who says "accidently" shot someone). YOU try that in court and see what happens (hint--- you ain't getting any donuts).
Equality under the law.

THAT is what "we, the people" see disappearing. And some of us don't like where it will inevitably lead.
Keep cheering.

8:56 Guess you've never dropped a Glock. They're practically hand grenades. Only thing worse is a Hi Point.

in a gots to go kind of situation

8:56 you must not shoot guns. Many or the handguns have 1 or 2 pound pull from the factory, but a little work and they are made to let off with ounces. Why? Because it is better for hitting the target.

How did the safety "accidentally" get switched off before pulling on the trigger "accidetally"? Firing a handgun is at a minimum a 2 stage motion after drawing then aiming.

Wow! The commentors on here should go work for the firearm industry or maybe go apply to be a detective.

Finger off trigger until you intend to fire. Works every time, on all modern firearms. Stupid cop. It was the mean old guns fault.

Yup. One of the first rules learned in hunter's safety, "be sure of your target and what lies beyond it."

GLOCK handguns have 3 safeties: the trigger safety, firing pin safety, and drop safety. All of which, when working properly, prevent the GLOCK handgun from firing, unless the trigger is pressed. That is, of course, assuming it was a GLOCK, and everything was working properly.

Of the popular LEF handguns: GLOCK 5.5 pounds; double action Sig approx 10 pounds, single action approx 4.5 pounds; double action Beretta approx 13 pounds, single action 5 pounds; double action H&K approx 11.5 pounds, single action 4.5 pounds. GLOCK "New York triggers:" approximate 8-12 pounds. One-two pound triggers, while maybe good for match or target shooting, not appropriate so much for carry. Thanks for your expert input, though.

this is the best advice so far: finger off trigger.
