BALTIMORE —Baltimore City implemented a nighttime curfew for juveniles last summer amid protests that the law was criminalizing youth.
On Wednesday, the city announced they're expanding that curfew to include daytime hours when students should be in school.
"This is not about criminalizing our children. This is about reaching our children before they find themselves in a situation where the only option left is law enforcement," Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said.
Rawlings-Blake announced Wednesday some changes to the city's juvenile curfew laws. Last summer, they implemented a nighttime curfew with violators being taken to one of two designated youth connection centers. Now, they are opening two more for daytime violators who should be in school. Those centers are expected to open sometime in the beginning of March, officials said.

HEY Salisbury idiot mayor do you hear this or you wont curfew your Obama voters?
Do you see the freedom in this country eroding away? Don't get me wrong...this is necessary to control animals that have no idea what decent people are expected to do with their lives....but the trade off of personal freedom for all to control the worst of society is painful to watch. No wonder the 1% are in control.
12:12 you are correct.
