ENOUGH OF THE LIES AND RUMORS ABOUT THE SALISBURY FESTIVAL AND PORK IN THE PARK

I have been receiving calls and messages about this blogger guy spreading a rumor that the Salisbury Festival has been canceled. NOT TRUE!

The Chamber of Commerce decided to move the  from Spring to Fall, that's it!

As for Pork in the Park, IT WILL GO ON THIS YEAR

More details on that event will be forthcoming.

Look, if you want the TRUTH and FACTUAL information, come to Salisbury News. It really is that simple.

Any word on why they are moving the festival Joe? Seems silly to move it to the fall when there's wine and beer fest, Apple Scrapple, etc.

Salisbury Festival is indeed done.

The festival has seen decreasing attendance for several years. I can see it being cancelled in the near future, and wouldn't mind it being cancelled now. It's simply not popular any more, just like downtown will never be the way it's being done.

Thanks for this.I was about to jump off of my front porch and end it all.

Maybe that's when Chair Bradley Gillis is going on vacation. He was Chair last year, moved everything around and went on vacation so the chamber had to clean up the mess.... Boy was it a mess..

Gillis WTF

Good call on moving to the fall. There's so many events going on in the spring. Just don't schedule it during the Pemberton wine fest or beer festival, and you'll have a good turn out.

Spring weather carries uncertainty...but many nicer events have staked out their turf in late summer and fall. Salisbury Festival is circling the drain.

Whether you call it cancelled or rescheduled, it still won't be the same. Was always a good start to the spring and summer season. Shame.

The name must be changed however in order to not offend the muzzies.

If they charge admission again for Pork in the Park, I will boycott again this year.

Who wants to go to the Salisbury Festival with all the thugs? As far as Pork in the Park. If it comes back, it will because Culver wants to make it people friendly - not overcharge like Mackes, Wisk and company. Same for beer and wine festivals - too expensive.

5:13, Is that you JT? Man, that would hurt their sales.

If Pork in the Park is happening they need to get on the KCBS schedule. BBQ Competitors are locking in their contests for the season now and PITP does not appear to be an option.

7:37, I'm told it's been taken care of.

If they continue to charge an entry fee, the PP won't last.

9:47, Ahhhh, the anonymous experts. Pork in the Park was very well attended when it first opened. It will be again.
