Um, this is a great list...but it's TOTALLY missing the point....you can also add a list of black people killing other black people and it not making the news.....this was not about white on black crime or anything of the sort. It's the fact that an officer used deadly force in a a situation where it appeared as though it was not needed....I won't go into a whole convo on the fact that the orbital fracture story has been found to be false....
The issue is 1. that the officer, this and MANY other officers, against black AND white people are using excessive force, and particularly deadly force when it comes to dealing with black people. 2. The body of Mike Brown was left open, uncovered in the street for over 4 HOURS and wasn't taken off in an ambulance, but some shady unmarked suv. 3. Those murders listed above....those people were CAUGHT and PROSECUTED!
Even if you look at officer Shawn Cowley....it took 19 MONTHS for him to be charged with ANYTHING.....that is the issue....the police are acting as though they are above the law because even when they do lawless things, there are no consequences....some not all.It's an epidemic that is spreading...the reaction by the police in Ferguson is EXTREME and HATEFUL. There was looting, but nothing worth a swat team.
You go ahead and shoot somebody and see if they let you out on the streets for a year and a half....race doesn't matter, this is something that affects all Americans
