Personally, I look at Skateboarding as an art. (As then-Mayor Giuliani famously once said, "If I can do it, it ain't art".)
I can't do it. There's an art to it. Sort of like doing gymnastics on a pole. I can't do that either.
That said, let these artistic 'boarders have free range of the Boardwalk.
They'll even make some money on tips!

Ocean City...No skateboarding on public property. So then take the fees off the Skate Park. Your the only place on the shore that charges to use a skate park...

1:18 No, and it's not a sport, either. It's a hobby, and have fun when a kid tries a trick and the board shoots over into your ankle. Or, when they crack their head open on public property, and sue.

99% of the kids are not good, and have no control over their board. Add in peer pressure, and peer approval, and you have unskilled kids with a hazardous item... and no fear of being held accountable for their actions... it's a dangerous combination.

@1:46 it looks like most of the skate parks on the shore are closing already - easton is already closed, st michaels is considering closing, goldsboro only offers a trail. So maybe Ocean City will be next?

I hope my ball never lands accidentally in your yard.

3:38 I would gladly hand it back to you, as it's your property that accidentally landed in mine. Apples to oranges mate.

Not really? Lacrosse and skate-boarding are my outdoor hobbies. Both involve objects that can cause serious physical harm and property damage.

Would you return the ball or skateboard if it ended up in your yard? Which are you more likely to call the cops for playing in the street? There is a certain stigma to skating and its a major bummer. Plus I can't use my skateboard to commute to my JOB!!!

SOME OC skateboards have no respect for the skating times. We walk on the boardwalk 3-4 times a week. Every time we go...we see skaters and or bikers after the permitted hours. Maybe the police should ride the boardwalk tram and see what is going on.

Skateboarders are all gay anyway.

Allowed times are from 2 am till 11 am? Promoting late night riding to the mostly hoodlum skate population! The skate park is for lil kids on vacation. Board walk after hours is full of dopers drunks and kids on e

I think you missed the sarcasm.

Maybe all the pedestrians should all go to the skate park and just walk around and get in the way. The skate park is for SKATERS! The sidewalks are for people.
