Illinois Gov. Quinn Repeats Call for Assault-Weapons Ban

Quinn is specifically pushing for the passage of the Illinois Public Safety Act

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn is once again calling for legislation that would ban the sale of assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

The Democrat addressed the issue at a news conference on Sunday. He spoke in the Morgan Park neighborhood — a South Side Chicago community that's been affected by gun violence.

Quinn is specifically pushing for the passage of the Illinois Public Safety Act.

You go dumbass. The gun law in Chicago is working really good now, isn't it?

ALL murders in Chicago's black on black gang war are committed with handguns! NOT Ar-15's, AK-47's. (aka; assault weapons)

Good! No need for assault weapons in IL. The criminals have plenty of handguns.

Duh...like the criminals respect the laws already on the books...if they want an assault weapon, they will get one~ by any means necessary!

If anyone ever misunderstood 'liberal Democrat traitor', this jerk is a classic textbook example. He is so caught up in an agenda driven cause that he can't even see reality right in front of him.

The strict definition of an assault weapon is a rifle or pistol that will empty its magazine with one trigger pull (automatic weapon).

It has been against the law to sell or possess an automatic weapon without a federal license for more the 80 years now.

The AR-15 is the semiautomatic variant of the fully automatic M-16. The AR-15 is designed to only fire one round per trigger pull.

The AK-47 comes in both variants as well (semiautomatic only or fully automatic).
