This article received 900% more views yesterday than the next top article of the day and today it is still 300% higher than any other article of the day.
Clearly this topic has proven to be one of the most popular we have ever seen. Could it be because so many people have been bullied themselves? Could it be because even more people are aware that bullying is an even larger problem here then we had ever known?
No matter the answer, comments from our Post yesterday proved that there are many on the Eastern Shore who are still racist, cruel and wanted to pass the blame off on others, even on the NAACP for this problem.
Let me tell you this. This article has more than 140 comments on it from yesterday and you wouldn't believe how many we REJECTED.
In the end, this is about one of probably many children who have experienced very difficult times in a place where parents and children should be the most rewarding. Hopefully many of you picked up the phone and called the Board of Education and made a difference for this particular child.

Bullying goes on all the time at Delmar Middle-high...it goes ignored unless the child is an athlete or the upper 10% of the school...its so bad that my child is home schooled under psychologist orders...Delmar is not all it presents itself to be...they sweep eveything under the rug and hope Joe Albero doesnt dig it up...
It absolutely scares me to death! I worry about my children all the time. People are more concerned about bad publicity. Its an epidemic...
8:01-I went to Delmar schools from grade 1 to 12.I began school in 1958 at Delmar Elementary and from there to Delmar HS.Bullying existed then as it does now,but everywhere. Not just in Delmar or Willards, but everywhere.A large part of the solution has always been and will always be for the child to adjust.Staff can and should intervene whenever possible, but the kids need to adjust while they are in school or adjust after they're out of school. When they're young is always better.
Adjust?? How and why should a child that is enduring relentless harassment adjust?
11:38-OK,I'll admit when I'm wrong. If you are saying that bullying is worse now than it was then you may have a point. There were less than 500 students at either of those 2 schools when I went,so the #s could factor in.Also your use of the word "relentless" is of major concern, because bullies sometimes went for days at a time back in the day without bothering anyone.
We're raising entire generations of victims here. Teach the children that it is acceptable to defend yourself and others and these bully's would eventually get an attitude adjustment. Instead, we punish those who defend themselves and do nothing to those who are more often than not diagnosed with some sort o anger management problem. BULLSH**! Let the intended victims defend themselves and they would learn another very important life lesson - how NOT to be a victim. All of this nicey nice stuff makes me ill.
Great artical and thank you Joe. Whether idiots want to believe it or not, it happened. I'm more than thrilled that this artical/story blew up. It should get attention. Kudos to you, and to Jennifer. Stay strong and focused.
