According to the National Foot Health Assessment 2012 released in June, 78% of adults 21 and older have experienced one or more foot problems in their lives.
One common culprit of America's foot pain, especially during the summer, is the flip-flop.

As a foot doctor, I see all types of shoe gear-related injuries. While the flip-flop may have some bearing on foot pain, cheap shoes made over seas are more likely a culprit. High heels, cheaper materials from the 'big box marts' like Walmart and America's increasing obesity problems are more likely candidates. While wearing flip flops all year-round is not recommended, their increasing popularity has improved their technology and overall construction.Still, let common sense prevail! If it hurts, don't wear it!
Waaaay off topic - but out government and political processes also suffer from "Flip-Flops".
Other places, other cultures wear nothing BUT some sort of flip flop. For their entire lives.
My question is who spent the money for this ridiculous National Foot Health Assessment 2012?
No doubt the American taxpayer.
