Typical CEO Made $9.6M Last Year, AP Study Finds

Profits at big U.S. companies broke records last year, and so did pay for CEOs.

The head of a typical public company made $9.6 million in 2011, according to an analysis by The Associated Press using data from Equilar, an executive pay research firm.

That was up more than 6 percent from the previous year, and is the second year in a row of increases. The figure is also the highest since the AP began tracking executive compensation in 2006.

Whats funny is how this "anticapitalist" "socialist" president is presiding over an economy where corporatations and top earners, you know the real job creaters, are doing great yet the job seekers aren't feeling the same euphoria. I guess we have several holes being blown into that partisan ideology but I'm show the GOP followers will find someone to hold on to the "evil socialist obama destroying capitalism" mantra.

So what! Obozo made 3million and didn't work a day

That pay is only unfair if share-holders lost money.

Oh yeah, I can see how someone could be worth $26,301 PER DAY, EVERY DAY. Yep. Clear as glass. The same guys who lobby congress that a rise in the minimum wage would destroy their business and force them to layoff workers and limit services. What they really mean is that they wouldn't get the newest Ferrari or be able to purchase the 8th house, so when they vacation in Hawaii for a month (STILL getting $26,000 a DAY while they water ski), they don't have to stay at some dive like the Hilton. Hmmmm. Unemployment STILL at 8%, too. Something is "trickling down" all right, but it ain't wealth, jobs, or all boats rising with the tide.

Many CEO's are those who take all the risk in the company they created. Others make decisions and put into place a company that puts money back into the shareholders' pockets in a depressed economy. In other words, they earn it. All of us have the equal opportunity to do the same. Except for Minorities, and they have an unfair advantage over the rest to do the same. They call it Affirmative Action.

Seriously are you really that much of a bigot? Minorties has an unfair advantage.

Look at the unemployment number. Look who are the CEO's of these companies. Look at Congress.

How is the lack of representation an unfair advantage? If anything Affirmative Action has helped women more these days.

Educate yourself please.
