Yes I have, I was using my fathers car wiyh out of state tags and was the only vehicle in the lot with an expired meter, there were others expired, which received a ticket. Some of the vehicles were expired when I had parked!
NO I dont park in Salisbury during the day..When I do come it is to eat at OC Cobobs then it after hours no charge for parking.I guess I have let the cat our of the bag now the ticket police will be there to write the ticket.
Yes, and it was well worth. It was either that or bend over for a 40$ parking ticket from the university, that place just loves to suck every last dime out of you.
Yes but only once since the grace period has been removed. Now I park for free at the big lot and walk a few steps. So instead of the 50 cents at the meter or the dollar grace fee they get nothing. My business is seldom more than two hours. Where do they think this is ,Bethesda ?
I was given a parking ticket for an expired meter after initially putting in the maximum amount to go court as a STATE'S WITNESS for an accident. The court would not give me permission to leave to refill the meter and my case wound up being the LAST CASE of the day! I took the ticket to the parking dept. and they said it had been past the "grace period" and I had to pay. What kind of crap is that?? Either leave the court room and be issued a bench warrant, or get a parking ticket!
Once when I stopped to pick up my wife, car in gear, engine running, SPD felt it necessary to write a ticket, posted on my record as unpaid after they failed to establish a court date. When pressed for a hearing the officer failed to appear.
That kind of aggravation is why I go to extremes to avoid downtown Salisbury.
Yes. Got a ticket for a violation dated a day in advance. The PD would not invalidate the ticket, even though I brought it to them before the "written time of the violation." It would have cost me a lot more to fight it in court so I just paid it.
Yes, I got a ticket for parking on the plaza when I was in my late teens or early twenties. As it was my first parking ticket I didn't pay it a lot of attention. I stuck it up over the visor and forgot it. The next time I went to the plaza I parked and walked downtown. When I got back to my car--it was gone!! I called the City of Salisbury Police Department to report the car as stolen. An officer came over to where I was and informed me that the car had been towed because a parking ticket had not been paid. The one over the visor that I had forgotten about. Of course now I owed the original dollar plus a twenty-five dollar late fee plus a towing and storage charge. Needless to say I have never parked downtown again except in the lot across from the library with the 2 hr. free parking. And if the library moved to a different location I would never go there again.
Meter Maid was standing by my car waiting for my time to run out.I walked up and got in my car and she still handed me a ticket. She told me it expired before I actually touched my car,so I was in violation. I paid it right away. and as I remember it was cheaper because of that..The whole deal seemed crooked to me.
Yes, didn't have change for the meter. Paid the $10 parking fee and forgot about it. I am use to paying for parking where I go...NYC, D.C., Wilmington , etc.
Yes. My mom lives on Jackson St. in Salisbury. Her home is on the west side of the street, as the street runs in a north/south direction. She is 86 years old and I keep her grass cut, and yard work done for her. One day I parked my old Ford F150 facing north on the west side of the street to put my ramps down to unload my mower. With ramps in place, I began cutting grass in the back yard and when I got around front I had a parking ticket of $30 for parking on the wrong side of the street with the truck facing north. Neither side of the Jackson St. has any posted restrictions. I was not aware that there was a law pertaining to that, so I paid the fine. However, If I had been the officer I would have issued a warning citation instead. I hope the officer who issued this citation to me reads this post. I'am a Veteran and served during Vietnam and on Social Security. Have a nice day and sleep well knowing I served in the Army to protect you.

Yes. Twice while doing business downtown. The parking meters really do discourage business.

I avoid Downtown so, no, I haven't gotten any tickets there. There other stores with free parking for me to get what I need.

Yes, I have. I went back later that night and emptied the meter with a hammer. The city still owes me 1.75$
Nope. Never. Somehow I have missed out on such life's pleasures.
While I don't visit downtown often, I do have to go down there every month or 2 ...
